Abstract
Every day relationships with personnel we work with and those who we encounter can have lasting effects in ethics and social responsibilities. We must be careful what we do and how we encourage others to do tasks by the impact it can make in their lives. People learn from our habits and mistakes as well as our good fortunes. If we continue to practice what is right and prevent wrongdoings we can make our impression a helpful and ethical one. Our responsibility is to do what is known to be right and encourage others to do the same so our children will have a culture of decency. Employers and Organizations expect their employees to be trained in ethics and the responsibilities surrounding them.
ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Business ethics is everyone’s responsibility. We learn, at school and at home, at an early age how important it the emphasis is on ethics. The failures to individuals and corporations depend deeply on our learning and the teachings we receive, at an early an young age. As we learn from G Parrett, and managing partner Deloitte Touche LLP (2003, May 2), who stated in the Chicago Tribune, “Business schools today are placing renewed emphasis on ethics, in response to the major corporate failures of the past 18 months. The Chicago Tribune has reported about the decision of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, among other leading business schools, to integrate business ethics into the curriculum.” We also learn that our future leaders are already in our schools and preparing for futures in major coorporations. Ethics taught will have an important impact tomorrow. How would we help those children who will take those jobs and positions' As G Parrett, President and managing partner Deloitte & Touche LLP (2003, May 2), also stated in the Chicago Tribune, “We can support organizations committed to helping teachers and students. And we can roll up our sleeves and get into the classroom to teach children what we know about doing business with honesty and integrity.” We must remember, what we teach now would be instilled in their habitual being and carried with them into those organizations that they connect with. Time is on our side allowing us to create the foundations now to last in the far future. As Nicholson, C., & DeMoss, M. (2009), stated in their Journal of Education for Business, “ Organizations and society at large recognize that ethically and socially responsible behavior plays a crucial role in good business practices. This realization has led employers to expect and demand that business schools facilitate the training of students in ethics and social responsibility. However, research is mixed on how well business schools are responding to these pressures.”
Our moral Awareness is vital to our contribution to society by knowing how we are contributing and what contributions we give. If we have a goal, we need to know how we will get there. Honesty builds ethical strength, will contribute to the achievement of the goal. Encouragement for those who we teach, either at home or in the public, is vital to their success and their ethic proportions to society. We must decide what is right and teach that it is the right way to success when we do the right thing. In all, what is right will lead to an individual being ethically sound and socially responsible.
