Although many people ignore the fact that global warming effects are evident, we should be taking notice to the severe weather conditions, the spread of disease and rising temperatures. Global warming is taking place right now as we speak. We have to take measures to help protect our environment.
1. What does this mean for humanity' It means simply we have to start taking measures to protect our environment. There are two main forces that are destroying our planet and one of them is humanity. Scientist believe as well, that global warming is happening at a more rapid rate than expected. Our environment has experienced climate change in the past but what humanity is doing it’s causing the greenhouse gas concentration to increase at a rapid rate.
2. Scientist predicts as the world uses more fossil fuel, the effects will continue to rise at a rapid rate. Scientist predict that the average temperature could rise between 2 degrees F to 6 degree F by the end of the 21st century, This will still occur even if the greenhouse gas emissions are reduced simply because the earths system has not fully adapted to the environmental changes that are already happening.
Carbon pollution is another reason that our planet is getting hotter, increasing the chances of weather disasters. The climate change will have an impact on water supplies in the coming decades; studies found that more than 1,100 counties will face higher risk of water shortage by mid-century as the result of global warming. Over 400 of these counties will face higher risk of water shortage.
1. Scientist state that 25% of the annual increase of carbon dioxide found in the earth’s atmosphere is caused by the extreme changes and usage of the earth’s natural resources , other things that contribute to this include deforestation, salinization desertification and overgrazing also contribute to global warming.
2. There are more gases out there that are diminishing our planet such gases are methane, chlorofluorocarbon and nitrous oxide are just a few that are released into our environment by humanity. The heavy use of power plants, cars, airplanes, buildings and other manmade structures release carbon dioxide; all these elements contribute to global warming.
Over the past decade scientist thought they had it figured it all out, but they were wrong. Global warming is happening at a more rapid rate than anticipated. Sea levels begin to rise very fast. The ice around the Arctic Ocean as well as the ice bergs in antatica are melting at a high rate this is what is causing the sea level to rise. Ice shelves in west antartica are breaking up more rapidly than thought possible and ice bergs are disappearing into the sea.
1. Global emissions of carbon dioxide jumped by the largest amount on record in 2010, the emissions rose by 5.9% in 2010 according to the Global carbon project. However technology, the economic and political issues have to be resolved before a worldwide effort is made to reduce emission can begin.
2. Global warming can also affect the behavior of the wind, this will contribute to a harsher and drier climate, with frequent visits of strong hurricanes water as well we will have heavier rainfall but the rain won’t stay long enough to irrigate the land because of the warmer climate. The water on the earth’s surface will evaporate quickly. This will have an effect on the agriculture practices all over the world.
The choices we make today will determine the climate our children and grandchildren inherit. It’s time to listen and take action there is plenty we can do to protect our planet. A few things like recycle everything you can, driver less, recycle buy a fuel efficient car, replace light bulbs for one that use less energy and have a longer life, lower you heat in the winter and raise you air conditioner in the winter just a little this will help tremendously there are many things we can do to protect our planet but we have to take the steps to get there and make the effort to protect our planet.
