‘I Have a Dream’ the written script by Martin Luther King historic march 1963. It is notion of a non violent protest embraced for hope and change of a bias society of race discrimination. The main notion is depicted in skin colour that’s been presented through narrative structure and language with no limitations. ‘I Have a Dream’ is supported through view point of no barrier of hope and change of equal rights for the rights of the black people. Martin Luther king used one of the conventions a serious formal language. As Martin Luther king quoted “momentous decree”, as it demonstrates power and strength in protest to fight for freedom. Martin Luther king gives himself an ambiguous task to fight for gods’ children as a calling of the king’s ministerial beliefs. Including the usage of historic text, as Martin Luther king quotes “one hundred years later” through looking into the past. This is for a better understanding to be informed to fight for the rights. Not to hold back, when the going gets tuff, look beyond towards the near future. Martin Luther king’s conveys hope for change as an important person to gods’ children. Following the convention of formal serious language king also uses Metaphorical conventions, “manacles” “cripple” and “withering justice” conveys of Black American’s isolated and trapped in their own skin of a thin line of justice for hope against racial prejudice. Metaphor “Cash a check” not receiving the value to defend of racialism to fight for a “sunlit path” and “riches of freedom”. By lighting the path and god’s children will head towards freedom to drive hope and faith onto a new path. King also includes repetition as a very useful convention to king’s language “I have a Dream”. It is portrayed as a strong meaning in the written script. It gives pride and hope of change for equality. Another convention is the use in the script of Narrative structure to reinforce this as powerful texts. By stating earlier “Negro are not free”, this reinforces the importance of equal rights. Martin Luther king responded to violence by using words not action which highlights king’s intelligence. As king dose not believe in violence. It does not solve the problems for an ideal future “let freedom ring” by ending with free inequality. Martin Luther King speech was effective and reveals the message about racism and freedom. Martin Luther king is a minister of faith who developed a speech of motives and desire to change. The Luther kings beliefs are for the individual equal rights by targeting God’s children.
