This chapter will provide a description of what the conceptual model stands for, what the relationship is between the dependent variable employee job satisfaction and the independent variables which are procedural justice, job training, Esprit de corps (team spirit) and job clarity. The conceptual model also shows the independent variables link to each other in order to reach to the dependent variable employee job satisfaction.
Conceptual model: Theoretical frame work of employee job satisfaction
The conceptual model stands for employee job satisfaction with the starting point by the independent variable procedural justice, job training, Esprit de corps and job clarity. The relationship of the arrows regarding the conceptual model is as followed:
Independent variable procedural justice explains the way procedural justice is handled in a company. Procedural justice refers to fairness in procedures and perception of the way in which decisions are taken in any organization (Constantine., Claire,. & David., 2008). Perceived procedural justice (PPJ) or fair procedures is concerned with the methods by which outcome decisions are made (Greenberg, 1990). Two recent meta-analyses of mainly U.S. studies (Cohen-Charash & Spector, 2001; Colquitt, Conlon, Wesson, Porter & Ng, 2001) showed that greater perceived justice of organizational procedures was associated with higher satisfaction, greater commitment to the organization and more extra-role behavior. Lambert., Hogan,. and Griffin, (2007) conceptualize fairness as an important part of society and in organizational setting. Paying attention to procedural justice issues seems crucial for managers.
Independent variable job training shows the importance of employee job training. Training is the process from which employees acquire the capabilities to perform their jobs and is an essential part of any successful business. People are a key resource, critically influencing every element of strategic management of businesses (Millmore et al. 2007, 5). Participants
According to Hair et al. (2005) a target population is a complete group of specific population elements relevant to the research. The target populations conducted in this research consist of the employee of Seguros Brouwer.
Seguros Brouwer consist of 50 people and 9 departments, the departments consist the underwriters department with 8 employees, claims department with 5, controls department with 4 employees, debt collection department 6 employees, financial department with 7 employees, file department with 3 employees, It department with 2, medical department with 4 employees, 8 account managers, there is one loose employees which is the messenger and there are 2 receptionist. The target population is all the employees of Seguros Brouwer. The sample method used is a census; the entire population is taking in account. The sample unit will be all the employees of Seguros Brouwer, due to the small sample size an census will be conducted. Participants will be approached through a printed self-completed closed ended questionnaire.
Instruments
The instrument used in this censes is a closed ended questionnaire. The objective of the closed ended questionnaire is to gather detailed information on what employees perceived on employee's job satisfaction and determine if it has effect on Seguros Brouwer company performance. The general questions will include the demographic part of the questionnaire such as age and gender, the rest of the sections will be deviated in the variables : employee job satisfaction, Job training, Job clarity , Esprit de corps and procedural Justice.
Validity
Validity is the ability of a measure to measure what it is supposed to measure (zikmund, 2003). Validation, in general, involves consulting a small sample of typical respondents and or experts to pass judgment on the sustainability of the item chosen to represent the construct (Hair et al. 2005).
Representativeness
The research on employee job satisfaction will be conducted within Seguros Brouwer N.V., therefore all the participants that have been chosen for this census will be the whole population of Seguros Brouwer. All employees of Seguros Brouwer and would be able to answer all questions accordingly. The participants will receive a 25 question survey to answer which will take about 10 min to fill in. The filled in survey will be deposited in a sealed box that will be on every department. The collected data will be analyzed through the (SPSS) program, which helps to order and structure the data for interpretation.
Conclusion
This research attempts to examine the impact of fairness of procedures, job training, Espritde corps (team spirit), and job clarity on employee job satisfaction, by using an survey in order to collect data. The use of a quantitative survey is going to be used. The data that is collected will be processed in SPSS.
