Abstract Included in my Reflection Assignment I will be discussing “Who I Am” how my personality will help me achieve my future goal. According to Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligence tests my highest points say’s I am happiest with music in my life. I scored high on bodily kinesthetic and intrapersonal skills. VAK testing says I am a visual learner. The Keirsey Temperant describes me as a Guardian. The Big Five my results indicated I am a Ocean. When taking the Jung my type is considered to ISFJ. Keep in mind that these results will help me work on myself. Who Am I Are you intelligent if you can only read, write and multiple according to Howard Gardner this is not a true and accurate statement. Gardner states that we cannot calculate intelligence based on reading, writing and arithmetic. Gardner states that “Intelligence covers a broad spectrum of areas and every person is intelligent in one or more of these areas”. His focus was on seven intelligences: Linguistic, Musical, Logical-Mathematical, Spatial, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal (Smith, M. 2002, 2008). Personality researchers have proposed that there are five basic dimensions of personality. The ‘big five’’ has broad categories of personality traits. While there is a significant literature that supports the big five personality factor some researcher don’t always agree. The five categories are: Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness (Out of service, n.d.) According to Dr. David Keirsey personality traits the Temperament Sorter results from habits of communication, patterns of action, and characteristic attitudes, values and talents. It also involves your personal needs, contributions that you make in your organization and society. It is comprised of what we say and what we do. The four Temperaments are: Communication: Concrete vs. Abstract and Action: Utilitarian vs. Cooperative (Keirsey, n.d.). VAK learning styles suggests that some people can be divided into preferred styles of learning. It also suggests that there is no right or wrong learning style. VAK states that some people will be a part of three with very strong preference, and some have two or less common styles. VAK consist of: Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic learning styles (businessballs, 1995-2010). Jung Typology was created by Carl Jung which pairs your attitudes extravert and introvert. According to Jung extravert and introvert are self-balancing which is through our conscious and unconscious, “he states this is why people see things differently and cause conflicts and misunderstanding” (businessballs, n.d.). After analyzing my results on each of these theories it gives me an ideal on certain criteria that I should work on regarding my profession and self. Although I am not in aggreance with all the results it does give me a starting point. For example the Gardner theory states I am happiest with music I scored a 22, I had no idea I enjoyed music to that extent. Next highest score was Bodily Kinesthetic a score of 18, in which I do agree. According to the Big Five my personality scored says I am an Ocean in which I am openness to experience/ intellect the score was a 35% percentile and states I am conventional down to earth, uncreative and narrow interests. I don‘t agree on two of the three, but I still need to work on this area. Conscientiousness very well organized and can be relied upon my score is 98% percentile, which is good results that states I am dependable, well-organized and self-discipline. Extraversion describes me exactly although my percentile is 35%, I am one to shy away from social situations more reserved. Keirsey Temperament says I am a Guardian, contradicts what the big five describes me as. The Guardians says I am the cornerstone of society, serving and preserving in important social events. I fit into the 40 to 45 % of the population. The VAK says I am a Visual learner, I seem to disagree again I feel that all three categories best fit my personality type. Jung says my type is ISFJ my strength preferences are Introverted 44%, Sensing 12%, Feeling 12% and Judging 67% Conclusion When Gardner wrote the book reframing the mind he states” we as human beings have multiple intelligences, we all look at the world differently in distinctive ways”(Dubrin,A.J., 2005-2007). Of course we do no two people are alike even siblings born with the same parents. God wanted us to be different that is why he created us in the way he did. In my opinion this is a metamorphosis. Okay I do agree that we all have a sense of intelligence in our mind, but how often do we use these intelligences. In our career we should use our intelligences to do our best in order to move across the spectrum of advancement. In regards to our intelligences I believe that our character plays an important role in our career goals more than anything. If you don’t have a personality then how can you achieve you career goals. After taking each of the assigned tests I scored differently on each of them, and some of the theories were in contradiction to one another I will however, look into each one of the personality test I took and take a deep look inside myself in order to achieve my career goals.
