Axia College Material Appendix C Clarifying Personal Values Each of you will be faced with numerous moral and ethical dilemmas throughout your career. To be prepared to make these ethical decisions, it is helpful to clarify your personal values, and morals before you are faced with an ethical dilemma. I feel these are all similar because it is important to create a sense of loyalty with coworkers and management. In order to do that, I must have respect for one another. There will come a time where I will not always agree. Compassion is another term for consideration. As an employee I will need to consider other client and employee’s beliefs and their opinion. The value that links all of these together is customer service. I feel giving the ultimate customer service to a customer, client or employee, shows how much I value, trust, and care not only for the consumer, or my co-workers, but for the organization itself. These values can affect my ethical decision making because I may not always agree with an outcome of a project or decision and may not consider my values when expressing my opinion. When these come in conflict I could try putting myself in the other person’s shoes. I also feel a strategy of eliminating the chance for conflict is communication. The values I have chosen compared to the organization I work for, go hand and hand. I feel this is the reason I picked these values. The majority of my clients are the less fortunate, poor, or homeless. It is very important to consider these values when it comes to dilemmas or conflicts.
