Visiting_China

2013-11-13 来源: 类别: 更多范文

I believe that visiting China during the month of August this year, 2008, is the ideal time to explore this third-largest country in the world that is rich in its history and culture as well as its natural wonders. China has not only one of the best natural and cultural attractions in world, but also has one of the most major and important attraction in the world ever - the Olympic Games - which many would not want to miss to attend this once in four years rare event and at the same time, take the opportunity to explore this beautiful and unique nation. Firstly, the 2008 Olympic Games happen to be held during the month of August this year in the capital city of China, Beijing. As China is hosting an international event and welcomes millions of people from around the world, it would be an honor to go to China as a representative of all Australian citizens to support Australian sports men and women at an Olympic event as well as bringing the spirit of Australia. It is important that these national heroes know that they are not the only one and that they have supporters behind them who would motivate and cheer them on. It would also be exciting to watch them live and not over the television at home. In addition, it would be thrilling as well to be part of large crowd and an amazing atmosphere where everyone is tensed and soaring in cheers during a race. Secondly, since China has opened her doors to the whole world during the month of August, the month that Olympic Games is held in China, she expects millions of visitors and thus, I personally believe that she is at her best in displaying her unique culture which makes it also a good time for supporters to drop by at some cultural attractions. One place of interests that depict best of her culture is the Forbidden City in the heart of Beijing where it now houses the Palace Museum. It is an interesting and enriching place to build up knowledge about ancient and modern day China after watching sporting events. The Forbidden City used to serve as the home of the Emperor and his household, as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government. Thousands of people would not only flock into the Forbidden City but also the Great Wall of China, a fortification that stretches over 6400 km built during ancient China to keep the Mongol nomads out of China. As part of the Olympic spirit of conquering and winning, it would be a personal achievement to visit and successfully climb one of the Seven Wonders of the World during August, the Olympic month. Besides, Olympic Supporters can have the Champion title too other than Olympic gold medalists! Thirdly, climate wise, Beijing is experiencing autumn in August and thus, this is the best time to visit China, avoiding the hot summer and the freezing winter. Besides that, I personally believe that the 2008 Beijing Olympic promotes the protection of Pandas, an endangered animal. This is evident as the mascots of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are five adorable Pandas. As part of this spirit, it would be a wonderful time for an Olympic Supporter to visit the Anzihe Panda Natural Reserve in Chengdu and learn about the protective measures. Although China has dreadful human rights record, this does not affect my decision to visit China in August 2008 in the expense of missing my once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Furthermore, other top tourist destination countries have human rights abuse too anyway. In addition, China has been removed from the top country list of human rights abuse and therefore, I believe that the country has shown some progress and deserves the support from tourists. Also, the Chinese government has said that they would not mix sports with politics. For that reason, it would not affect the Olympic Games in any way and tourists should not take China’s political affairs into consideration when visiting China. Visiting China during August 2008 is just the thing I would do because this time coincides with the once in a four year event – the Olympic Games and also, allows me to tour around the country. Although China allows limited liberty of the people, this does not put me off from travelling to China. One is wise to visit China in August 2008.
