'Victorian moral values applied equally to all.'
1. From the title I arrive at a conclusion the Victorian moral values did not treat everyone equally, this is the first impression after reading the title if we consider the phrase 'equally to all' .
All of us know that the women in Victorian Britain period and today's is symbol of loveliness, tenderness, exquisiteness as well mother but in different manner in view of the fact that women are treating otherwise years ago the superiority has a men they are byword of power and majesty .The beliefs gave women a central, passive role they were under male domination and home restriction and she does so much for the comfort of other regardless of that is unhappy .According to her husband woman's place is in the house and she could not see the world beyond. Women and men should be equality in marriage. In other words she is accepting only as housewife and her career is marriage it was known from early childhood. Victorian period expected from female to be slender and helplessness but deeply in soul the woman keep forcefulness unsuspecting and that know all of you woman .In public sphere shall not place for women the men are accept as a community leader but within the household men and women had their separate spheres about the Victorian virtues were directed to the home and family .They were not admitted to the entity with that they would have their own valuables. But social equality is necessity for freedom progress of the female as well should give allow to develop as independently ,own responsibility if she gave education of their children. The role of women housewife consider as fundamental parts of the society but order to have equality in the relationship she must be free and respected. Women were seen as unequal to men in so many ways why than should not take part in the public sphere. Against to the settings of the period the society indeed should to regard the women and her position in the society for that women had power by reforming morals and manners.
2.To support my essay I will use John Stuart Mill, from 'The Subjection of Women ',Chapter II,1869
Marriage being the destination for women and the marriage contract is the objective cause by the society . Women are not commodity to be regularly sold by their father to the husband without any regards to hers .The Religion is important to the Victorians but Church has not seen the anguish of these women who say simply 'yes' forced. The only one is the meaning of those conditions the man had power over his wife after marriage . He is sole tribunal and law by any means the husband impose a cruel punishment over his wife and whatever is hers is his but not conversely as draw author inferring that marriage contract restored to the woman her just rights in that case is not insufficiently. By that time the wife is solely slave of her husband at all minutes and she is worse than that of slaves in the laws of many countries. Settings of this period deprive women from all rights, property and freedom. She vows a lifelong to him at the altar and he rely on that as law and even she carries in her womb their child she can not be their legal guardian without his authorization. In some slave codes the slave could compel the master to sell him but no wife free from her tormentor.
John Ruskin,from 'Sesame and Lilies',1865
It is irrelevant to argue that one sex could have advantage over the other. Each one is a individually complete character and they are mutually complementary. The nature of the man is for discoverer and protector ,his energy is for war and for conquest all over the place where passed. However the woman power is for rule and arrangement of her place out of all dangers and temptation. Therefore she is protected from error within the house in contrast the man is accompany with failure and inevitable infraction. Thus the home is the place of peace out of outer realities and his wife must be always wise and incorruptibly in smart in his eyes. Men are capability to fight for any cause or for none and he can be merciless in his own struggle. However, man is inability for good nature and his humanity can be degraded from unimaginable guilt and murder. But for all that is a power of delicate woman if she would wield over manhood with her abdicate from all majesty because only she does not destroy where she passes.
