Teen Mom Teen pregnancy is something that many young girls are struggling with in the United States. Teen Mom is a show that fallows the life of different teen mothers in the United States. The show shows how much they struggle to continue and keep up with their education. Many of the mothers don’t get to graduate high school with their friends for they fall behind during their pregnancy. There are a few mothers that do graduate but then struggle to go to college for lack of money or struggle to find a baby sitter. Another thing they struggle with is staying in a relationship with the father of their kid. Fathers being teens also struggle to understand how difficult it is to be a parent; therefor many of them tend to not do anything to help the young mothers. This puts a strain on the relationship, in the show there is a lot of fighting and screaming which is not healthy for them or the babies. In the most recent season there is a young mother with twins, one of her twin girls is really sick. It shows how difficult it is for her to comprehend what’s going on with her baby. There have been other young mothers on the show that have also dealt with the complications in their kid’s health. My opinion of the show is split in half; I find it to send a positive and negative message to society. The show sort of makes some things look glamorous, like having a baby at a young age is the thing to do. Some young girls might look at some of these young mothers and want to have the same thing. Many of them are being looked at as role models; they tend to not see how hard it is to be a mother because the show although it shows how much it takes to be a mother it does make a lot of things seem sweet. Something positive about the show is that it also warns young girls to be careful and shows the consequences of having unprotected sex. It shows how just because you have a kid with someone you’re going to spend the rest of your life with them. Young people can watch this show and want to make a difference in the way they are living their lives. It all depends on how the mind works, and how someone views this show.
