This essay i am going to write is about the importance of accountability in the army, and as to how it affect the units mission. First off by definition "Accountability is important in the military because soldiers are often times required to perform extremely challenging duties and services. Without accountability, a soldier cannot be expected to meet these high demands and expectations". Being accountable means being in the right place at the right tim, being in the proper duty uniform, being dependable and always arriving to work on time, appointments on time and most importantly doing the right thing at the right time and all the time. One of the most important parts about being accountable is so that you do not miss any important information that you could use. The first formation of the day is one of the most important formation of the day because that is where all information is put out for the week, day, and even month. Accountability does not only affect you but every single person that you come into contact with. There are many different forms of accountability that i am going to cover in this essay. One is of the lower enlisted soldiers, this is one of the most important because there is a much larger number of lower enlisted soldiers. you must be aware of your actions and always be vigilant and never to lose self accountability. Once you have gained self accountability, you can then start to worry about other people if the task requires it. Accountability does not only happen on the week days but also during your personal time because a lot of what you do or people see you do on your personal time can affect how people view and see you on work time. And can also affect how you feel about yourself or how other people feel about you. The next topic i am going to cover is the importance of being accountable as a non-commissioned officer. This is really important because soldiers will always be coming to you for advice, guidance and almost everything they can not do alone. NCO's are the backbone of the military, they relay information from the top of the channels all the way to the bottom.
