All About Jehovah's Witnesses and Pacific Islander
My selected religion which is Jehovah's Witnesses has many different differences than the religion I believe in which is Christianity but I was taught to be a baptist though. As a Jehovah Witness you really don't believe in every holidays except for a memorial of Christ's death but as a Baptist I celebrate every holiday that there is in the United States especially my birthday. Now days most people says that Christians shouldn't celebrate Halloween because it's the devil's holiday as when I see it has a holiday where people dress up and get candy by going trick or treating. Another thing I can say about if I was a Jehovah's Witnesses I would believe that there is a second chance after death but as a baptist there isn't a second chance after death. As a Jehovah Witness you basically go to a place call Kingdom Hall to worship the lord as a baptist I remember going to a church on Sunday mornings and evenings and Wednesday evenings to worship the lord but another thing I know about Jehovah's Witnesses is that they spread the word by going to door to door and trying to get people to believe in their religion.
Jehovah's Witnesses experiences with other religions is that they tried to do what the bible says to do which is to respect everyone because most people might have been raised to be a Jehovah's Witnesses or like myself I was raised to be a Christian especially Baptist. I think that you can learn something new that you never knew about the religion unless you experienced it. But I think everybody wants to try something new if they don't like it they don't have to keep up with it at all.
Jehovah's Witnesses have contributed to the American Culture in many numerous ways like first they are normally the first ones to help their followers or non followers during a natural disaster like an earthquake or a hurricane that happens most of the summer time in the United States. Also Jehovah's Witnesses have won many battles in the Supreme Court. They have also set many precedents that involves religious freedom issues that has been going on for awhile I think because many people wants to have the freedom about what religion to believe in and what they was raised to learn also. There are many other ways that Jehovah's Witnesses have contributed to our culture like they try to talk to addicts that have a problem with drugs and try to get to turn their lives around and do something positive in their lives.
Most people have discriminated Jehovah's Witnesses by telling them they are either a cult or non Christians and they think it's caused by jealousy and hatred towards them. But I didn't know they think when people turns them away from their door they think that is discrimination. But I have never shown any discrimination to any Jehovah's Witnesses that I have seen in my community but I do believe that they need to understand I believe in the religion that I have been taught in most of my life and they need to respect that also. I know that sometimes people don't answers their doors because they don't want to hear what they have to say when they probably already know what Jehovah's Witnesses teaches.
I do understand what being a Jehovah's Witnesses is all about but I don't think I will ever be part of it because I don't know why they don't like to celebrate holidays except for one though. But I always been taught to be a Baptist though.
Now it's time to learn about the Pacific Islander and what kind of culture that they live in because I have never learned about Pacific Islanders until now. The Pacific Islander culture is different of other racial groups by that most Pacific Islanders loves to have a social lifestyle because they like to talk to new people and learn new things I think. Also Pacific Islanders has a difficulty time to settle with the laid back lifestyles that most ethic groups does in their culture. I think everybody was taught something different in their race/ethnic group.
The Pacific Islanders have contributed to the American culture by their music because most of the music has helped the Hip Hop industry in the United States today. Also some Pacific Islanders are also known as Samoan Americans and they mostly get into professional wrestling and one of the biggest wrestler in our world today has to be Dwayne The Rock Johnson who is also an amazing actor.
The Pacific Islanders have been discriminated before by being denied housing for no reason at all. But I think most racial/ethnic groups has been discriminated in their lives before. But discrimination is still a problem I think in our country though. Everybody has their own opinions about what they think though.
I don't think that the Pacific Islander and Jehovah's Witnesses shows any similarities in discrimination because one of them is a religion group and might have different reasons why they are being discriminated as with Pacific Islanders they are rarely discriminated though in my opinion. But I have learned something new about what's it like to be a Pacific Islander and what my life will be like if I was an actual Jehovah's Witnesses though.
