Social Media Everyday is filled with adventures that make the newscast and we are instantly are updated either by the Internet or the TV. It’s fascinating how the people all around the world can know about a crisis or some other event just hours after it happens. With instantaneous media and electronic outlets at out fingertips, we can use them to our advantages, it can be good for us and it’s entertaining. With the way the media is setup we can use it to our advantages. Lets say we find out on the radio, that there has been an accident on I-95 that’s blocking all lanes going northbound. You have 8 am class to take at your university, and that’s is your way to get to school. Just by listening to the radio you can avoid this traffic and make it to college on time. Another way instantaneous media can be good for us is, by informing us of event that is happening in a different continent and we instantly know about like the tsunami that his Japan. If we didn’t have CNN or other instantaneous media outlet, we would never know that Japan was hit by a tsunami. So therefore in the wake of the news, the United States sent out Red Cross to help Japanese government to deal with the crisis at hand. It helped us to cooperate at faster pace and get the necessary help out there. Last but not least, instantaneous media has its entertainment purposes. Everyday there is some kind of professional sports event that occurs like basketball, baseball or hockey. If you were avid fan of sports, you would keep close tabs on the teams you love. Any breaking news that you favorite player is either getting traded or is being cut from the team or gets injured. With information like the box scores or final scores, you can have a conversation with a fellow sports fan and you have something in common to talk about. In conclusion instantaneous media reporting could be very useful, good and entertaining in our daily lives. Though it maybe too much at times to digest the news that comes from events all over the world, it still keeps us informed of what’s happening out there. I’m the kind of person that’s like to be informed of what’s happing as the day progresses.
