Sleep deprivation and college Students
The performance of a college student is affected when the commit sleep deprivation on a daily basis. Sleep deprivation is when a person neglects to get a restful night’s sleep. The average sleep cycle should be about 8 to 9 hours. But when you sleep less than 6 hours, you are in the act of depriving yourself of sleep which affects amount of energy you need for the next day to function at an optimal level. It is seen more commonly in college students because of classes, work, and personal life. This is especially seen around exam times when students try to cram for tests which are not helping them because their brains are not getting enough energy to recall the knowledge that they are trying to maintain in their minds. Therefore it is best not to indulge in sleep deprivation in order to live a better lifestyle and get better grades.

Conclusion
One should not engage in total sleep deprivation because it can affect your overall performance as an individual. These studies have shown that college students that commit the act can be reflected on their grade point averages.
