Both environments are affecting the firms in such a different ways. Internal environment is about planning and understanding the market, the purpose is achieved organization goals in external environment. Usually, internal environment will talk more about the organization culture. External environmental, it is the major forces outside the organization with potential to influence significantly a product or services (Bartol 2008, 43). External environment divided into two types, mega environment and task environment. Internal Environment External Environment There are two types of external factors that can give affects to Singapore Airline Company. First type of external environment factors is mega environment. Mega environment can be defined as General environment is the external environment segment, which reflect organizational broad conditions and trends in societies within an organization operates in. services (Bartol 2008, 43). In this case PEST-I are identified in details. PEST-I are involved about political and legal forces, economic elements, socialculture, technology and international. Second environment is task environment it is consists of SLCC, supplier, labor, customer and competitor. Mega environment Legal political element refers to governmental law that every company must follow. This element is refers to law that Singapore Airline must follow, in order to operate their aviation business. Economic element can be defined as a social culture and International that will give effect on the Singapore airlines Company. The Singapore economic condition actually will reflect on the people viewpoint about Singapore Airlines. Economic element can be branched to low unemployment in Singapore and the General economic Condition of the country. Base on the research in March 2010, Singapore is included as the country with low employment rate with the amount of 2.2% and Singapore economic growth higher than the government expect. As the result, economic condition will affected people viewpoint about the country airlines. People viewpoint will be different, if we compare Singapore Airlines with Kenya Airways. As we know that Kenya has unemployment rate reached 40% and poor country. People would think that the aircraft is not comfortable, is not safe to use and all the bad viewpoints would come out. Socialculture is includes attitudes, values, norms, beliefs, behaviors and typical regional demographic trends (Bartol2008,44).in this case we can get the example from the work diversity from Singapore airline. Singapore Airline is not employ people from Singapore only, but also they employ people from another country such as India, Chinese, Indonesia and etc. This is due to the Singapore Airline customers who are not only from Singapore, but also from all around the world. The purpose is to make customers easier to communicate about what are the customer needs. Technological element it is refers to in which level of generation that the company product is using. Singapore airline technology for maintenances is included the best in Asia, They provide the latest technology such as; Versatile docking system, Overhead cranes and Tele-platform system in addition they also provide “Low controlled Humidity storage space” in order to built new engine. International can be defined as international affair that can affect your business. In this case, Singapore governments (Singapore Airline belongs to government) must have agreements with other countries, for using other country territories and must register their airlines first. Singapore airline cannot fly directly and using other country territories with careless, because it is against the law. Unless the governments of Singapore want to sultry one of their airline, shot by the other countries. For example, Singapore Airlines want to use Kenya territories, but they do not have the agreements yet. When Singapore Airlines enter to Kenya territories the country defense automatically will shot Singapore Airline, beside that it is against the law and the country defense might thought that Singapore Airline as “Foreign airplane” . Task environments Customers or clients are people who buy products from another firm. Singapore Airline customers including all people who need air transportation. Singapore Airlines tries to be closed to the customer particularly to increase their services and try to serve customers better. Competitors are firms that offer same products or services; there are several airlines competitors for Singapore airlines such as: Cathay Pacific and Qantas all the airlines that have the same qualities and direction with Singapore airlines. Suppliers are companies and people who provide resources (food, fuel, aircraft and etc) so, Singapore Airlines can operate their aviation business. As an example, SPC (Singaporean Petroleum Company) is the supplier of jet oil for Singapore Airlines and supply all the jet fuel in the Singapore airport. SATS catering is Singapore partner to supply food and beverage, in order to make their customers more comfortable during the long or short journey. Labors can be defined as people who are working for the Singapore airlines. In this case labor that will be employed by the Singapore airlines are labor that has skill. All the employee ability is proven, because it is related to the passenger life. Singapore Airline labor such as: Pilot, aircraft engineer, stewardess and all employers that is related to aircraft.
