CULTURE
The core values that underlie the operation of this school are; caring, professionalism, respect, integrity, diversity, and excellence. Caring encompasses the interest, concern, compassion and kindness we demonstrate for our students, faculty, and community partners. Professionalism is created by encouraging personal development of professional qualities, which are achieved through collaboration, cooperation, and mentoring. Respect is illustrated by exemplifying good human relations, acting in a dignified professional manner, and listening to others carefully and asking for clarification when necessary. Integrity is acting in an honest, ethical and professional manner. Diversity is valuing the opportunity to develop the potential of every individual of our diverse school community. Excellence important to encourage, collaborate, and share knowledge and experience among faculty/students in developing and implementing our academic goals for advancement.

LEADERSHIP
1. The leadership style of the principal of this school is that of a democratic style with emphasis on Instructional and Accountable management. He places emphasizes on group and leader participation when it come to making policies, and decisions to improve teacher instruction. He attempts to make every individual feel they are an important member of the school community, and elicits communication with various staff and faculty members, so accountability is placed on all stakeholders.

3. The leadership of the teachers is that of personal improvement, and academic success for all students.
4. The education level of the principal is a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, and a Master in Education. He has approximately thirty years of experience combined as a classroom teacher and administrator.
5. The principal’s vision for the school is to receive an Academic Acceptable rating for the coming year. This is communicated to the faculty and staff, verbally and written through team meetings with the teachers, faculty meetings, data team meetings, department meeting, and principal’s weekly update.
6. The relation ship between the school and the central office harmonious.
7. The formal mechanism that is in place to foster improvement and ensure accreditation is that of the Texas Education Agency.
8. The Mission of the school is to provide a quality educational experience, which will enable all students to become productive citizens. The Philosophy of the school is to prepare college bound student to be productive citizen of a global society through academic, athletics, and the arts. They were established by the faculty and staff. They are revisited every year, to determine a need for change. They are parallel to the curriculum.
9. The mission and philosophy is communicated to the staff both verbally and written. They are both communicated to the students, parents, and community via communication given to them on a regular basis.
10. Decisions are made about school issues via voting. The classified staff is involved in the decision making of the school, by voting on things that pertain to their particular roles in the school. The professional staff in involved in the decision making in the school via voting, suggestions, and opinions.
SCHOOL ORGANIZATION
1. The school day begins at 8:15 and ends at 3:45. We have two lunches, each is 35 minutes, there are eight class periods each day, which are 45 minutes each.
2. The teachers are organized for planning and instruction based on content area. We have grade level teaming for both ninth and tenth grade. The planning period is 45 minutes each day, and we do have a duty free lunch.
3. The governance structure of the school is that of a safe and orderly environment. All stakeholders are involved. The Administrative duties are distributed among the administration by 9th grade principal academy, 10 grade and 11grade A-N, one assistant principal, and 11th grade M-Z and 12th grade the other assistant principal.
DISCIPLINE
1. The school does have a formal discipline policy. This is the district Student Code of Conduct Policies. The Fort Worth ISD Board of Education has established these standards to ensure that our schools will continue to be safe places for teaching and learning.

4. The procedures that are in place to ensure safety of children and adults at the school , is that all visitors must check in the front office, and must have an escort when in the building unless they are district officials.
FINANCE AND BUDGETING

2. Yes the school does have regular procedures for internal review of the curriculum, each year the department decides what they will teach and how it will be taught. Our textbooks are selected by the district, so our school does not have a say in the books that are selected for the school. The teachers make suggestions, but the district has the last say in the matter.
3. The Curriculum is articulated between the elementary, middle and secondary schools, via the district curriculum framework, which is a guideline as to what is to be taught in the classrooms. The activities that provide a smooth transiting, between the schools, are the counselors visiting the schools, the students going on field trips to visit their potential school.

5. The primary Instructional methods used by the teachers vary from classroom to classroom. However, our school has instated the Kagan strategies, and they are being us constantly throughout the School.
