This means patients or people with type II or late- onset diabetes need a diet rich in natural high- fiber foods which offer a better control for glucose production. In the ADA diet this diet of saturated fat is replaced with mono saturated fat, since this approach is thought to be the basis for a the healthy effects of Mediterranean diets.
