It is very important for organizations, especially a health care organization, to foster and develop a safe and successful practice to their patients and conserve the financial resources that will uphold a secure and working environment in which is very crucial to the reputation of the organization. Risk management is usually the process in which an organization measures and asses risks along with developing strategies that will be able to manage those risks as well. These strategies may include something such as transferring that particular risk to another party, trying to avoid the risk all together, or accepting all or some of the consequences that could potentially come along with that particular risk that the organization decided to take on. The traditional risk management usually focuses on the risks that are from the physical and legal issues such as a natural disaster, a fire, accidents, death, or even a lawsuit. Hospitals today are faced with a variety of risk factors in which will help to determine their success or their failure. These risk factors are typically known as: Competitive feedback from other physician groups and hospitals, a change in rules and regulations by the government, extremely thin profit margin, foster a community relation with a regard to zoning and permitting resistance as well, the bond market state and the cost of borrowing, the success through fundraising and community support generation, overdependence of key physicians and admission preferences and the age of the medical employees, high fixed structure of cost, developments in the advancement of the technology within the medical field in which has being on the length that a patient stays. The effort that an organization takes evaluate and decrease risks to their staff, patients, and organizational resources that are within a health care facility is also known as a health care risk management. A health care facility should put forth effort and minimize a financial loss, by making sure that all accidents and injuries within the facility are eliminated or cut down to a bare minimal. Each and every health care facility and provider needs to make sure that risk management is put into practice and play on a regular basis within their facility. In the year 1985, Health and Human Services, also known as the DHHS, made a decision there was a need to put policies into place for procedures on risk management and risk assessment within each health care facility. At the time there was a pretty high concern on how the advances within risk assessment and risk management within the Environmental Protection Agency, also known as the EPA, would take effect on the DHHS. In this article a philosophy risk was stated in which this philosophy also listed actions that should be considered when these types of philosophies are put into effect. The first action that should be taken into consideration when putting the philosophy into action are to identify the possible hazards that could potentially pose a risk to the public health. The second action is to manage risks that are related to the possible hazards within a manner that is prudent and in concern with the public's need. The third action is to acknowledge the essential participation of the public. The fourth action is to communicate the risks throughout the organization and be able to understand those risks to both experts and lay persons. The fifth action is to whenever it is possible to use the information that makes it possible to arrive to an informed estimate of those risks and put them into play and use. The sixth action is to make sure that the risk is managed and an approach is taken that will give full consideration to an alternative action that will be able to control the potential hazards. The seventh action is to advance risk assessment and risk management processes by research items that can and will reduce any uncertainties. The Cleveland Clinic is a world famous known hospital within the entire United States and is located in Cleveland, Ohio. This facility is a nonprofit multispecialty academic medical center in which provides clinical and hospital care. This clinic was started in 1932 by 4 different acknowledged doctors in which had a vision that they would offer outstanding patient health care in line with principles or cooperation, compassion, and innovation. Until this day the Cleveland, Ohio Clinic is known as one of "America's Best Hospitals". What steps and risks may be taken for this clinic to achieve such standards' The first and foremost action to achieve these standards are identifying management risks and this clinic has come to the conclusion that if they recognize their risks they will go a long way and remain as one of the health care market leaders and benefit their patients as well. In health care sectors it is very easy for mistakes to be made and inaccuracies to occur as well. Once risks have been accepted and assessed can there be accurate risk management. This includes things such as prioritizing tasks so that they may be obtained at the appropriate time and the resources that are significant can identify the risks for the hospital. The ability to shift from the initial stages to efficient management will then eventually bring to a conclusion the effectiveness of the risk management opportunities. For many of corporations, risk management has been a primary cause of tension when things go away. Many hospital management teams have come up with ways in which will allow them to stay afloat even if there should happen to be an event of a downward spiral and when things in general go bad. The risk managers thrive in difficult times in an event of calamities in which will then give then an abundance of chances and opportunities to put their plans and actions in to play when risk profiles are managed. To make sure there is great improvement of this, every employee within an organization should make sure that they are aware of their impact on risk taking and shoulder responsibility and accountability to act within the satisfactory limits. An organizations survival may sometimes be hanging by a short thread when management is eager to take on lingering options that are available such as truthfulness and honesty. Once the organization has cleared its risk factors the kinds of actions such as these can help to mitigate the risks.
