Research Strategy Paper This paper will contain information on how to solve a problem in my day to day life. The problem that I am interested in solving is Time Management for Students. Time management skills is a hard task for me in my every day life, with the married life and three small children it seems like I never have enough time to complete the things that are needed to be done. So now that I have decided to return to school through the University of Phoenix, I have learned that I need to master this time management issue in order for me to succeed in earning my degree. I have decided that my research will be internet based. I will be using the University of Phoenix Library to search for articles that contain studies, opinions, and suggestions that pertain to the time management for students topic. These articles that I will be reviewing will need to have information that will help me learn to manage time more effectively. Once I have collected the articles that I have chosen to use in solving my problem I will separate the articles according to what was said. For example, one pile will contain actual studies that were done, the second pile will contain any suggestions that were mentioned on how to manage time, and the third pile will contain the opinions that could be used on how to solve time management issues for students. When this step is done I will begin to evaluate the information that was found in these articles. A few things that I will be looking for in these articles will be are the studies that were completed accurate. I will also search for the suggestions or opinions that were stated in these articles. I would like to know if these suggestions or opinions were coming from an actual student or a professional. For me, I would rather take the advice from a student who may be going through or has gone through the same things that I am going through when trying to manage my time effectively for school. The suggestions or opinions that are coming from a student will hold more weight on how to solve my problem versus those suggestions and opinions that are coming from a professional. I feel this way because I believe that a current student like me can relate closer to each other and what issues effect time management. Evaluating a professional’s suggestions or opinions will definitely be taken into consideration when dealing with my time management issue however; I just feel that it is harder for a professional to relate to student life. I believe that school life and the requirements of a student change periodically so my theory is that what worked for someone five years ago may or may not work for the current student. Certain issues that I will take into consideration on how to solve my time management issue will be how accurate the studies are. For example I will be looking for any percentage rates that can show me what has worked for other students and what has not worked well for students. This can be beneficial because it can help me determine what strategies to avoid when trying to manage my own time for school. I will also choose the suggestions and opinions that seem to fit closer to my personal needs. Since I am struggling with time management issues due to my personal life, I would like to base the findings that I choose to use on my personal issues so that I can be sure to solve my time management problem effectively. Being able to manage my time for school and personal life will be a big accomplishment and will definitely help me do well in school.
