To promote a healthy musculoskeletal system for old age, exercising regularly is good for strength and
flexibility. Getting in the habit of regular exercising reduces the chances of getting osteoporosis. Making sure
you are having a good diet, with oils, nutrition, vitamins, calcium, is also good for you body. Oils are known to
help your joints and the calcium and the vitamin are healthy and protect your bones. Risk factors for arthritis are
family history, age, sex, previous joint injury, and obesity. Carrying excess pounds puts stress on joints, in your
knees, hips, and spine. Previous injuries in a joint are more likely to develop arthritis in that particular joint that
was injured. Women are more likely than men to develop rheumatoid arthritis. You are more likely to develop
arthritis if your parents or siblings have the disorder. Your genes can make more susceptible to environmental
factors that may trigger arthritis. Osteoporosis is a disease that weakens bones, increasing the risk of sudden and
unexpected fractures. Risk factors for osteoporosis are age, maximum bone density and strength is reached,
bone mass begins to decline. Gender, women that are over the age of 50 have higher risk of developing
osteoporosis. Bone structure and body weight, petite and thin women have a greater risk of developing
osteoporosis. Family history, it is heredity. To prevent osteoporosis you can supplement calcium, vitamin C, D,
E, and K as well as careful regulation of the amount of magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, boron, zinc,
manganese, and copper in your diet.
