Thesis Statement: Searching for identity falls through everyone and is a struggle because we loose ourselves in ways we may not gain back. Identity Through the struggles of identity comes the search and despair one has to encounter to realize whom he/she is. Growing up is the roughest stage we all fall upon for we are not sure who or what we may become. Identity crisis mostly falls upon young adolescent teens that struggle with sexuality, racism, and lack of parental guidance. Struggles During adolescent stages we come across certain disparities such as depression and anxiety into realizing what kind of person we are. Study’s show that male’s have the most identity crisis during their adolescent stages and very few don’t realize who they are until about the age after 25. Suicide is one of the many cases young teens face in trying to figure out their identity and struggle a great deal with parental guidance. A good amount of young teens that struggle through this tough stage are ones who mostly suffer from sexual identity being most males. Young adults who fall into this category go through this stage from lack of parental guidance. Growing up without some sort of parental guidance causes the child to feel lost not knowing what sort of path to take upon them and usually feed off of others around them. Findings Finding some sort of activity helps maintain some guidance and direction in a young child’s life as they struggle to find out who they are. One study showed a man, through dance followed a highly developed cultural arts company and discovered where his true calling was and found himself through this dance company. Struggling myself through my adolescent years, I too found my place through the art of dance and have broaden my horizons highly which taught me so much through the years. Conclusion Struggling with identity crisis is not an easy task that everyone can overcome. Through my personal experience I have gone through so many downs before I completely found my up, and finding it wasn’t easy. The best advice to give out is just to believe in yourself and faith for it will lend its helping hand in this struggle and search we call identity. The order I did my arguments were from the start of the identity, struggle and search, then finished off with different findings on how certain people, including myself overcame the struggle. This was kind of my way of setting a chronological order for the way things were. How did you address counter arguments without weakening your own premise' By keeping my arguments all-relative to the subject and the positive outcome that happens afterwards. One example was the argument of how most of the findings pertained to young adolescent teens. After all searching I included the few that do pass through this above a certain age and don’t even find themselves till years after.
