Sting
I should be happy now that I'm free
No longer the person you forced me to besoaked in your promises, fanned by your wingsTails curled and claws flexed, dragons sit down to dine.I should be happy now that I'm free
Held by a memory, chained by a dreamchasing forever, intangible stream.Boxes of chocolates filled with stings. When faced with a problem, you redefine.
I should be happy now that I'm free.

I have, at times, admired dogstheir awesome skill at sitting still. And some days too, I’ve envied snakestheir sense of smell that works so well,or wished to be a dragonfly, with so much beauty, free from duty. And I of course cannot denya robin that sings, or flits on wings, can steal my thoughts at any time.I can discern much I could learn. But only as a human beingcan I achieve this way of seeing. So many times I have admiredthe fly’s and bees when I am tired, and been impressed by simple antsor Eagles passing in the skies.the tall stillness of the trees, all wondrous and so sure to please.Awe and wonder, time and spacethe truth of self and self's tiny place, horror and sorrow, fear and shame, the simple wonder of my name, despair, desire and delight, the darkness and the inner light,What is the human soul about'In Nature's nature we can seethe beauty of eternity,Souls, absorb and then reflect

Commentary
Poetry is not a definite category, thus opening it to everything from society, nature, humans, reality to our thought, wishes, future, emotions even our dreams. So, I don't need to have actual experiences to write poems. William Wordsworth, a greatest nature poet, said that
"Poetry is a spontaneous overflow of emotion, not the emotion of the actual experience, but the emotion recollected in tranquillity"; and this poem collectively falls under this, example that justifies my opinion. In my sting poem I decided
To use a dragon to represent the ‘devil’. From there, I thought of the loss of paradise as being akin to the loss of a relationship. I let the poem take over and tell it’s story in my own voice. I’ve used a variety of internal rhymes within individual lines amid it’s mainly rhyming couplets. The poem should stir wonder at what is possible in nature and acceptance of human limitation relative to the rest of creation. But there is also awe and excitement for the possibilities inherent in the nature of the human creature. I used a internal rhyme by using similarity in word endings.
Timothy Steele a contemporary poet discusses ‘Rhyme’ in (All the Fun’s in How You Say a Thing .p1) ,‘Rhyme seems to satisfy a basic human desire for symmetry and surprise, for resemblances’ and contrasts.’ I agree with Tim, as in rhyme can give surprise of differing arrangements. I did consider the titles of the poems carefully. I feel it helps the reader with the subject, tone and genre. I’m conscious on the chosen title’s as they act as a promise. I hope that the poems would appeal to the readers intellect, emotions and reason. I wanted to make my poem’s like a fun ride that never misses a beat, that gains momentum at every juncture as the endearing simplicity of those opening lines gradually and painlessly draws the reader deeper and deeper into the profound conclusion. The final stanza feels whole and thus capable of keeping ones attention. The message is mainly, humans moving away from nature and thus, awaken one in smelling the roses . Simon Armitage says: I'm not sure if it's possible to be a Romantic poet anymore, but more and more poets seem to be turning their eye towards nature. To the necessity of its otherness.’ (simonarmitage.com)
I personally always feel this pull towards nature.
I do believe in inspiration, but I also think it generally requires a lot of help, which often means sweat and tears. Or at the very least it means showing up and making yourself available. Generally I’m someone who’s lucky enough to be struck with lines, images, and ideas while walking down the street. The poem’s came much more quickly than most. I think I wrote the first draft in two days. I will often try an early version of a poem, particularly one that at first seems dominated by prose rhythms, in syllabics. The counting forces us to look for new words to fill the syllable count and often presents me with new and interesting diction and enjambment. Once the poem has mellowed a bit, I then don’t feel as committed to the arbitrary count and can go back and revise with the usual considerations of free verse. The imagery I find dreamy and I feel its great relevance . It helps bring the text to life and reflects the meaning of the text meaning on a deeper visual level. I found the poetry track (CD2) and the inspiring student’s comments from the forum highly encouraging on my work .Valuable comment’s from the last assignment assisted me thus correcting them in this piece. I’d like to end the commentary with a important quote for I sometimes feel poets to be the true ‘way showers’ in life.
‘It is the job of poetry to clean up our word-clogged reality by creating silences around things.’ ~Stephen Mallarme ( quotegarden.com)
