“Breaking News: Tsunami hit Japan this morning.” “The Government is trying to prevent nuclear power from leaking.” “Japan confronts scope of catastrophe.” Going through newspapers, TV news, Internet, etc., this past few days, all people see is updated information about the huge earthquake and the attack of Tsunami in Japan on Friday 11th, 2011 which the solutions to the aftermath are still being solvent. Japan is well known for having many earthquakes in the past because of its geographic location, but this time Japanese people could not avoid a dangerous natural disaster that leaves them so many painful things, and shocks behind. Another horror thing for the whole country is nuclear power plant at the alert level. It keeps leaking after the Tsunami. Facing with the present facts, the aftermath takes away each of everyone’s hope, and the most important thing is happiness, which who will know the answer when these victims can find their most valuable thing in their lives, the thing that we people never want to loose – family and a home.
“The 9.0 magnitude earthquake takes place in one day and right after it is another Tsunami hitting to the Northeastern Japan.” (theatlantic.com), and it keeps spreading out throughout the whole day. Other cities in the middle of Japan also get strong affect from the quake that leaves people not enough time to evacuate. The peaceful in those small towns of Japan and the busy of Tokyo are interrupted just in one day, and cause a big damage with blackouts, fire and tsunami. The worst fear of human is natural disaster, and people in Japan have to take everything in one day. Not only the Tsunami causes damaged properties, it also causes thousands of death. “Homes are swept away” (news.yahoo.com) Like how it is called, the Tsunami swept away everything in its path, including farm, cars, ships, etc., and even scarier is the people that live in the areas cannot save themselves and their family members from the Tsunami.
Seeing and hearing these painful things on the news make us cannot say anything besides trying to do our best to help the country and people recover from the aftermath. But this aftermath is too large and people in Japan also have to face with the “catastrophe”. The strong aftershock makes everyone speechless. What will these people going to face in the future' Will they be able to find their missing family member' Who is willing to help the people got affected from the nuclear radiant' How about the children' These questions keep rising as the crisis in Japan is getting worse. “Radiation in Japan food more serious than thought.” (cnn.com) As people all know, nuclear power plants are the most strongest and important in Japan but at the same time it causes a lot of serious damages when it breaks. The big question for Japan government is will they rebuild the nuclear power plant aftermath' We all know people in Japan are suffering because of radiation. Children have weak immune system and they have high chance in getting these dangerous radiation. The government will have to separate them from their parents. Loosing other family members and now the parent has their kid be taken away is too cruel. Nuclear power plants will be a big problem to solve because of what happen after the Tsunami.
Lucky evacuees scramble in small schools, or hospitals, they pray and wait for their family that gets separated during the disaster. The horror and fear will stay with them with the rest of their memory. Loosing everything just in one day is a nightmare, these people have to face with the fact their beloved people still get stuck under those buildings, houses, or they can be swept away with the water. No one wants to loose their last hope in finding their family. We all know these people will keep searching for their family who has gone missing because it is their only hope and happiness. They will fight over their fear and shock to find their family. But can they still keep their hope till the end when the number of dead people climbs up to the thousands' According to the report from New York Times online newspaper, “more than 4,300 Dead and 8,600 still missing in Japan.”
“In the tsunami they could see people dying right in front of them,” said one of the lucky survivor (NewYorkTimes.com) Natural disaster is our human fear. It takes everything away from us just in second. We have to watch people we love die or gone missing in hopelessness. There is nothing much we can do besides keeping our hope high and pray for them. Natural disaster is not our human friend but it is not also our enemy like the war. When it comes, it comes and then leaves behind deaths, damages, and sickness. The disaster separates kids from their parents, husband looses his wife, downfall economy, disease, thousands of pets orphaned, etc.,
“Cold, snowy weather in parts of the Asian nation further heightened the hardship of a nation facing what its leaders call its biggest disaster since World War I.” (CNN.COM) A happy life with the warmth presence of family seems so far away for the people in Japan now. They are facing so many harsh things at the same time. Chaos is everywhere. People are nervous of loosing family, not enough food, clean water, and a place for them to stay during this catastrophe. Will they be able to survive through this time' It is still an unknown answer. The governments work their best to protect the citizens from the radiator of nuclear power and provide everything as much as they can.
