Preperation, motivation and teamwork are all important factors when going camping. You need to be prepared with the appropriate equipment for camping. You need to have a positive attitude to encourage yourself to complete sets tasks. You need to work good independently as well as in a team, listening to what other people has to say and always help others.
Being prepared means being ready for whatever comes your way and being alert so that you never get caught up in a bad situation where you will not know what to do or how to react. Being prepared also means having the things you need with you at the time you need it. Or being prepared could also mean just knowing what you are doing at the time you are needed to do it. Being prepared has many rewards that come with it. When you are prepared for what you need to be prepared for, you can participate in the activity instead of staying on the sidelines; while you watch everyone else participate. You can also avoid getting punished by being prepared, like not getting a three hundred word essay on being prepared. At year 9 skills camp there was a high impact on being organised and taking own responsibility over yourself. A little things as just bringing a 500ml water bottle on a 14 km hike over high mountains had a huge impact on your effort on the day. After 10 minutes the whole team found that their water bottles were half empty and that we hadn't prepared us good enough for this hike. With only 500ml of water per person was not going to last for a whole day hike over mountains in 30 degrees sunny weather. Due to very poor preparation and also not paying attention when the camp leaders were explaining that 2 litters of water was required for the 14 km hike, many people got dehydrated and one person even fainted.
Motivation is the energy that makes us do things: this is a result of our individual needs being satisfied so that we have inspiration to complete the mission. These needs vary from person to person as everybody has their individual needs to motivate themselves. Depending on how motivated we are, it may further determine the effort we put into our work and therefore increase the standard of the productivity.A couple of years ago there was a kids show on every saturday morning on swedish TV called Wild Kids. The show is about two teams of kids who live on different camps in the forrest and have to face one competition each week against the other team. In the final of this series both of the teams had to hang on a pole as long as they could and the last person to hang from one team would win the whole competition and get to travel to Africa with the rest of its team. The teams red and yellow started the final off and the red team was already losing, people from the red team wasn't strong enough and hold on to that pole. When the red team had one person left hanging and the yellow team had 5 people hanging everyone assumed that the red team was going to lose. After 30 minutes of hanging both the red and yellow team had one person hanging on the pole left. The guy in the red team was still hanging. The yellow persons grip slips and the red team won the competition. The 8 year old guy in the red team was crying, yelling, screaming during these 30 minutes, it was a real torture. In the interview after he says 'I couldn't let my team down, there was only one thing to do, hold on to that pole. My arms were so numb at one stage and i cried so much like I'v never done before but the only thing my mind said was 'hold on for your team, don't disappoint them, we have to go to Africa', it was all in my mind, it was all mental thinking'.
Some important decisions must be made such as proper diet and exercising. Physical fitness will definitely play an essential role in getting back one's confidence. It has a great effect in many areas of everyday life. Bringing energy that provides motivation and ultimately it renders those long awaited goals real. With new energy comes confidence and the ability to set goals again. A feeling of being alive comes back making aging enjoyable rather than depressing. Another feeling associated with the recent change is a sense of an accomplishment. A feeling of pride and attractiveness skyrockets the self-confidence into new levels, which were not supposed to come anymore.
