Palestinian-_Isreali_Conflict

Fact or opinion, what Israel is doing to the country Palestinian is wrong. And if you can question the fact that killing innocent women and children is wrong, than I truly suggest that you reconsider that. That’s what Israel is doing to the Palestinian people. I believe its complete genocide and can go on to say that my “opinion” is completely factional. I don’t buy the big lie that Israel tries to display to the media… “We aren’t trying to target civilians; we are trying to target terrorists.” That’s a lie. And how are they the terrorists, when they are being terrorized in their own homeland' Their shirts that the Israeli soldiers wore said it all, “1 shot 2 kills,” with a Palestinian women who is pregnant as a picture to represent the “2 kills” on their shirt, worn with pride. I find it hard to believe that anyone who had shirts like that, and claimed to be an honorable soldier is a good person. They should be ashamed of themselves. I myself know that those shirts say the truth about how many Israeli soldiers feel towards the Palestinians. I have a grandma who was shot by an Israeli sniper in the ankle and the neck for no other reason besides the fact that she is a Palestinian woman. The siege on Gaza wasn’t the first thing that Israel did to depress the Palestinian people…they constantly control the borders that they’ve built up in the Palestinian land, without their consent. A 10 minute drive can turn into an hour drive, making it impossible for the Palestinians to get where they need on time and without stressing themselves. In order to extend the Israeli state the Israeli government tares apart the West Bank, a Palestinian territory. My granduncles live there, old men who would not be in any type of violent activity, were kidnapped during the night and thrown into a camp/prison, tortured and beaten by the Israeli soldiers who claim themselves to be the victims. Luckily, my granduncles escaped but with many injuries. And if they didn’t, only God knows what would have happened to them'! Recently, reporters have discovered that not only are they tormenting the Palestinian people, but they are killing them in order to take their organisms, like their heart, lungs, liver, etc. They shot them in an area that will weaken them but not quit yet kill them. Then they take their organs out and believe it or not…they ship it to America. I question why the American society never hears about all of this' So the next time you know someone that is getting a transplant, think about where the organ is coming from…it could be from a 12 year old Palestinian boy, who was killed cold blooded and wasn’t ready to die. And you know what disgusts me the must' How they sew them back up, and send them back to their homes; for their families to see, and not only make them grief over their died son, but also scare them to try to bring justice to what has been done. Which I believe is very stupid on their part; I guess they aren’t as sneaky as I thought. And for me to know that this could have happened to my granduncles, really saddens me, I mean wouldn’t you hate the government that ripped out your son’s, husband’s, grandma’s, grandpa’s, or daughters organs' You can’t blame the Palestinians for hating them! I mean they take over your land, kill your family and depress you! How do think they are going to feel, like they want to be best friends' I think not! To go on and make land settlements on Palestinian land, when they have plenty of homes in Israel that are empty, and they are trying to pay people to come live in them. I believe that to pay someone to come live in a home, that you slaughtered innocent people for, is saying something itself. And I’m not saying that the Israeli population as a whole is terrible…I know plenty of Israelis who are 100% against what the Israeli government is doing, but at the same time there is plenty of Israelis who think that what they are doing is 100% right. But Israel thinks by saying, “we are sorry for the deaths of the innocent people,” is going to bring peace, than they are sadly mistaken. And then they go and massacre Gaza city, the city of which my father comes from, and claim that killing 1400 and wounding 5300 civilians is an accident' I find it hard for anyone to believe that, that many killed is an accident. It’s genocide. So why does the American government supply them with the money and weapons to do this, from our tax dollars' That I don’t know, but hope to soon find out…and bring the truth not only to America but the world. Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been going on for over a hundred years now and continues to worsen. The war is based on religious beliefs and land settlements on Palestinian land done by Israel. It may seem like the conflict is 1,000 miles away but it does seem to have an effect on people here in Connecticut. Recently people have started groups in order to try to make peace between the Palestinians and Israelis. “We refuse to be enemies,” and “the tree of Life,” are groups that bring together both Israelis and Palestinians. Local resident and Priest of Old Lyme Church, Reverend David W. Good says, “The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has gone on for much too long and has proven to be a flash point for other conflicts in the Middle East and around the world. The Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and resources is morally and legally wrong. Because of its one-sided, unilateral support of Israel--$10-12 million per day—the United States is in complicity with this injustice.” He also describes the siege on Gaza as a Massacre, “the use of indiscriminate, disproportional force, in its slaughter of innocent children, in its use of chemical warfare, Israel was in violation of International law.” He believes that in order for there to be peace, “both sides need to commit themselves to non-violence, the Declaration of Human Rights and International law.” And he also knows, “that Israel needs to stop building more and more settlements on Palestinian land and it needs to return to the 1967 borders. At the same time, it also needs to stop treating its non-Jewish citizens who live within the 1967 borders as second class citizens.” He personally believes “in a secular state in which the rights of all are protected.” And in order for the people of the Holy Land to live in peace and prosperity, “the people of that are—Israelis and Palestinians—must come to see how very deeply the need each other and if they could learn to live in peace with one another they would be a wonderful demonstration of what the Holy Lands were created to be.” Local resident and Rabbi of Beth El synagogue, Carl Astor agrees to say, “It has gone on far too long.” He believes that, “both the Israeli and Palestinian leadership lack vision and courage.  It would be refreshing to have new leaders who could think out of the box and be secure enough to make the compromises and concessions that will be necessary for true peace to come to the region.  I think that the people are more ready and willing than the leaders.” He thinks the massacre on Gaza “is terrible.  I sincerely regret the suffering and the loss of innocent life.” However, he believes, “that if the Hamas leadership in Gaza had acted to halt the rocket fire from across the border, as they have now done, the war never would have happened.  I don’t think that any country in the world would sit back passively if its citizens were being bombed from a neighboring country, do you'” Yes, I do agree that no country in the world would sit back and let another country destroy it, including Palestine as a country. Recognized or not recognized as a country, they are still people. Which is why the Palestinians launched the rockets into Israel in the first place' Why would they let Israel take over their country and kill their people' And does that really justify the reasoning for the massacre' I beg to differ. I honestly can say that I believe it was out of evilness. He thinks the Israeli wall is a “security barrier was built to stop terrorists from crossing into Israel and carrying out acts of violence.” He goes on to say, “Why can’t they realize this' There is not that much that we can do, but at least we should try to understand each other and respect different points of view, and listen with fullness of heart and mind.” That I can agree with him 110%! He seems like a nice guy. Another local resident, and CAIR(Council on American-Islamic relations) executive director of CAIR Connecticut chapter, believes that in order for there to be peace, Israel must “pull out completely from the occupied territories and allow all Palestinian refugees to go back to their homes and take back what is lawfully theirs. That would be a great place to start.” He felt that the siege on Gaza, “Like any person of conscious, I felt outraged at the brutal treatment of innocent people. The siege on Gaza is a siege on the decency and morality of our humanity. How can we allow the imprisonment of one and a half million people only because they refused to accept the occupation of their homeland'” He believes that the Israeli wall, “It’s an illegal wall that was built primarily to confiscate more Palestinian land. It must come down.” He strongly believes, “The so called peace treaties that Israel had “so generously” offered the Palestinians who refused these “golden” opportunities are nothing but empty promises and half truths at best. These treaties were designed to strip the Palestinians from any meaningful statehood and self determination. Under these treaties the Palestinians could not have an army nor could it control its own borders. Also the land that was “given” back looked more like a flat piece of Swiss cheese with so many  Jewish settlements that divide and break any kind of continuity in the Palestinian territory specially in the west bank. Israel offered these treaties only because they knew that no reasonable person would accept them. Then they turn around and blame the Palestinians for “wasting” the chance for peace.” He thinks, “Judging from the situation on the ground in Palestine the future is very bleak and does not look promising. The occupying force, that is Israel, continue to strangle any chance of a negotiated peace settlement. Israel continues to confiscate Palestinian land and build on it new and expand existing settlement. It continues the illegal and immoral siege of Gaza after last year's genocidal assault on the entire population. Israel refuses to accept responsibility for the war crimes it committed during the so called cast lead offense. These war crimes are well documented in a United Nations report issued by the well respected South African judge Richard Goldstone as head of a Fact Finding Mission after the war on Gaza.” Here in Connecticut there are some people “from all faiths who are trying to shed some light on the suffering of the Palestinians. They speak out and voice their opinion through some media out lets. They try to organize rallies and events that might make their voices heard. Others try to donate to charities who are working to help alleviate some of the pain and suffering especially in Gaza. Unfortunately there a lot more work that needs to be done to make any significant difference.”
