Organizational Behavior is the learning of persons and their performance inside the framework of the association in a place of work surroundings. It is an interdisciplinary field that comprises sociology, psychology, communication and management (Lamb-Deans, 2010). In this paper, team D will explain the internal and external forces within their organization. John works for Coca-Cola a beverage retailer, manufacturer and marketer of non-alcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups. The company is best known for its flagship product Coca-Cola, invented by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton in 1886. Tiffany is going to tell about McDonald’s. McDonalds is the world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving more than 58 million customers daily. Renee is going to tell about Customer demands and globalization with in organizations as a whole. Restructuring Restructuring is a strategy used by businesses in order to continue to achieve business objectives. Market indications and demands are how business determine, whether or not to change business models. My current employer; Coca Cola Refresh in Little Rock, Arkansas just completed the final phase of the restructuring process. One of the main goals of the restructure/merge was to develop one set of policies and rules for the Coca Cola Company worldwide. Technology and the demand of national and international businesses are other reasons for the restructure. Prior to the restructure, there were actually three different Coca Cola companies, Coca Cola Enterprises, Coca Cola USA, and The Coca Cola Company. Coca Cola Enterprises handle all bottling and can, such as 20oz and 12packs, Coca Cola USA, handle all syrup used for fountain equipment in restaurants and small stores, and lastly Coca Cola Company, handle all products such as PowerAde, Minute maid juices, and energy drinks. All three companies provided all products mention above to its customers, but each had its own policies, pricing and a different (go to market) models. However, problems arrived when companies like, Wal-Mart, Target, and Kroger begin to demand the same services national wide. Coca Cola customers begin the process of changing their internal strategies and demand. The demands were to provide the same service and pricing to all location. Coca Cola is the number one beverage company in the world, and has a brand portfolio that will target every possible customer. The restructure/merge begin roughly five ago, with 3% staff reduction yearly for four years. Recommendation: Staff reduction was not really needed, because the company turned right around, and hired from outside of the company, for the same jobs position that was previously eliminated. Competition Serving billions and billions of customers yearly has bought quite the fame to the golden arches. McDonalds has become the nation’s #1 fast food company by revenue, with having more than 32,000 franchises selling hamburgers and fries in more than 100 countries. (Fact: there are more than 14,000 McDonald’s located in the United States). This popular franchise is well-known for its Quarter Pounders, Happy Meals, and the eve famous Big Mac. In a very competitive economy McDonalds has managed to excel in increasing consumers and becoming more and more dominant in this line of business. Demonstrating the priority of competitiveness in traditional society today, McDonalds has excelled on its competitive intelligence. In order to strive a business markets on its competitive environment, in which superior customer service must be demonstrated. McDonald’s has delivered this as a top rated competitive advantage against its competitors for years. Economy McDonald’s origin is United States based. The reason behind its acceptance globally in other cultures was its willingness to adapt to various marketing strategies. Another reason was its ability to lower prices to adjust to different fluctuating economies. This strategy alone combined with economy crisis would win over consumers over a period of time. This successful organizational strategy would soon run rapid not only through McDonalds but through the fast-food industry as a whole. McDonald’s has also been known to help the economy by providing jobs for inexperienced, unqualified, uneducated people with gainful employment. Team D has taken the time to review Organizational Behavior. While making our observations we reviewed how an organization would be affected as they deal with Customer demands as well as being an organizational that has made the decision to go Global. The team found, while reviewing the process that an organization has to focus on so many different areas to insure that the demands of the customer can be meet. One example of this is the needed material has to be in stock. This will allow the needed components to be made, in order to complete component parts or assemblies that the orders require. Some of the components are purchased from a sister plant. This means that the organization is so large that they can purchase needed product from one of the other plants that is owned by this same organization. However, the negative side of being your own customer is that if there is a glitch in the system and you are not able to get the product from one of your sister plants. This could cause some major problems with customer demands. As our team reviewed the customer demands within an organizational we notice that some organization make the decision to go global. Globalization is a wonderful option for a company. To find an organization that has made the decision to go global. Chances are that organization would be fairly large. In most cased when you find an organization that has made such a decision that company usually has several companies overseas. This doesn’t mean that they are all in one location overseas. Normally when a company has made such a choice it is because they are able to by the needed component at a lower price. However, the down fall of a company going global as far as the affect that it would have on its customers. When organizations are dealing with Globalization, they have to make sure that understand the laws of the country, that they have chosen to do their business. That could be a problem for the company if they are not aware of the laws and techniques from one country to another. In conclusion Team D has explained the internal and external forces of organizations in this economy. There are things, situations, and events etc. that take place inside a business that influence the approach a business functions (either in an optimistic or unconstructive way). These things, circumstances, proceedings that influence the way an organization activates.
