Explain the nature of though
This paper will talk about the nature of though, about my own perceptual process and I will describe the types of perceptual blocks that influence my views. I also going to explain how thought processes can changed or manipulated by perception. I will describe thinking, sensing process, memory and the medium. I am going to talk about an instance in my husbands life in which his perception of the real situation was far from the actual facts and I describe the types of perceptual blocks that influence your views. At the end I explain how thought is changed or manipulated by personal barrier.
All of us perceive situations differently and all of us have a distinctive thinking process. Experiences though out our life also play an important role in how we perceive situations. The nature of logic and critical thinking go hand in hand. However, each person's logic may depend on their perceptual process or their perceptual blocks. The nature of though begins at an early age. From the time one learns the difference between hot and cold, right and wrong, and so on, those are also the roots of critical thinking. Where we grow and live are the elements of the nature of logic and perceptions. We continue to build on our knowledge about subjects based upon what we know and from new information provided. Critical thinking helps us ask relevant questions, weigh evidence offered in support of arguments. It also helps us to interpret complex problems, and make wise decisions. This is especially important when you realize that many problems do not lend themselves to clear-cut solutions. Some judgments we make are simple and some judgments are complicated. Some arguments, whether made by others, or us may be straightforward and easily understood. While other arguments may be complex and consist of a series of smaller arguments, each needing to be examined and evaluated. This affects the perceptual

processes.
What is perceptual process. Perception is our sensory experience of the world around us and involves both the recognition of environmental stimuli and actions in response to these stimuli. Through the perceptual process, we gain information about properties and elements of the environment that are critical to our survival. Perception not only creates our experience of the world around us; it allows us to act within our environment. Perception doesn't just involve becoming consciously aware of the stimuli. It is also necessary for our brain to categorize and interpret what it is we are sensing. Our ability to interpret and give meaning to the object is the next step, known as recognition. (About.com 2010)
Perceptual blocks arise from the way we have learnt to recognise information from the world around us. We develop habits of 'seeing' the world, which sometimes can get in the way of finding the best solution to a problem, seeing only the most obvious solution. Perceptual blocks like culture, views, family life, government, laws, religion are arising through learning or lack of it, either our own or that of people who influence us.
Thought process is the process of using your mind to consider something carefully. (free dictionary 2010). The process can be changed or manipulated by perception. Perception is what you see. Therefore, your perception of a situation can be changed. People and the environment can change your perception. Perception can be manipulated regardless of whether your perception is right or wrong.
Thinking is when you're processing thoughts, coming up with new ideas, brainstorming also thinking is the ability to reason or thought processes that allow a person to form views on life based on their beliefs and life experience. It is a great innovation that leads to problem solving techniques and also it is the manipulation of mental representations of information.
Nature of though 4
When we take in data with or without preconceptions we are sensing; when we focus on particular sensations and categorize them according to our memory system, we are perceiving; and when we draw conclusions about their patterns and meaning, we are thinking. Like when you sense a ball coming straight for your face, the sensing goes from the eyes to the brain; your brain perceives this message and turns it into a thought. There for you are observing this and your brain is organizing.
Memory is the retention of, and ability to recall, information, personal experiences, and procedures (skills and habits) it is a picture in the mind of past events; the ability to remember; a thing remembered.
I am going to take an example from the army.
When my husband just came to Germany in his first 3 days he showed up to work 5 minutes late. His sergeant yelled at him and “smoked” him until he could barely stand and he thought it was stupid to be punishing someone for 5 minutes. But my Husband realized that the sergeant was trying to teach him, that being on time in the army is important, especially in combat when u have to report in at a certain times or make a radio call at a certain time so someone does not mistake you for the enemy and accidently kill you. The reason there was such a difference was because of his lack of experience in the military and how things worked. Since he was fairly new his military lingo was not very good so he had a hard time following what his sergeant was trying to explain to him. My husband learned that being on time is one of the most, if not the most important thing in his job, and he will try his best to never be late again.
