Professor Jay was an expert on South Pole. He had done extensive research and had been there many times to collect artifacts. All this priceless artifacts were all part of his amazing collection of South Pole. He also had a private museum in his bungalow which visitors were welcome to admire. He was a good host and often had guests. He would be most glad to explain about all the artifacts and the history behind them willingly. However, wary of people trying to steal his collection, anyone who left his house was checked by an electronical security machine. Recently, he had just made little life like models of penguins and seals that was published in the newspaper. ‘‘Professor Jay’s new collection of life like model of penguins and seals is opening tomorrow’’ Xavier, mastermind of crimes read the headlines to his accomplice girlfriend, Jean. ‘‘Jean, the professor Jay is loaded. Just an artifact is worth a few thousand bucks, I wonder why Jay doesn’t want to sell them. Anyway, by selling a few artifacts, we both can be millionaires, or maybe billionaires' A few artifacts won’t be a great loss to him huh'” ‘‘No problem! Why don’t we try it' Oh Xavier, when we are rich, I want to fulfill our dream of travelling around the world,’’ Jean replied with a wink. “Oh yes, you know I will agree to your decision,” replied Xavier, “And when we are rich, we can do everything!” The next day, Xavier and Jean dressed in suits visited the museum just like any other guests. They went on a little tour conducted by Professor Jay himself with the other guests. Some of the guests were snapping photos of the artifacts and others were mesmerized by them. Jean kept Professor Jay busy by asking questions. Meanwhile, Xavier was a meter away from the others. He fished the artifacts into his haversack carefully. Professor Jay on the other hand, was delighted that Jean was so interested in his collection that he devoted all his attention to answering her questions. At last, they reached an air-conditioned room of below zero degrees filled with little life like model of penguins and seals. The guests were to put on some winter clothing available before entering. Professor Jay’s idea was to let the guests have a feeling that they were really at South Pole. ‘‘Imagine you are at South Pole, enjoy the cold weather. Feel free to take pictures with them, you have fifteen minutes before we proceed on,’’ Professor Jay announced. As the guests were posing for the photographs, Professor Jay and Jean sat at one of the benches and were engrossed in their interesting conversation. Jean was busy asking tons of questions while Professor Jay was fighting to answer them. ‘‘Well, Professor Jay, are you hiring' I will be glad to work for you. Indeed, you have an extraordinary collection of artifacts! I can start work anytime and I guess I have enough knowledge for now'” asked Jean. Professor Jay was excited to know that curious Jean was actually willing to work for him. He had liked this girl from the very start and immediately hired her as his personal assistant. Jean was pleased that her effort was not put to waste and Xavier and her plan was half succeeded. Soon, fifteen minutes was over and Professor Jay led the other guests out. After the last guest to be out was a mile away, Xavier went into action. He emptied the precious artifacts out of his haversack. Meanwhile, Jean turned the nearest stuffed penguin upside down. She emptied all the crushed newspaper out and replaced them with the artifacts. Xavier then stuffed all the pieces of crushed paper into his haversack not leaving any traces of evidence. Jean was to ship them out of the museum late at night. As a staff in the museum, she was able to walk in and out of the museum without passing through the electronical security machine. Then, they acted normally and walked out of the room. Jean closed the door behind Xavier. By the time she caught up in front with Professor Jay., it was the end of the tour, the guests left reluctantly and passed through the eletronical security machine. For Professor Jay’s next two tours, Jean accompanied Professor Jay and helped to explain to the guests and answer their questions. At last, at the end of the day, all the guests had left. ‘‘Jean, for the next two tours after your group, I realised that artifacts were missing from the exhibits. I did not say it just now not to make a fuss and let the guests panic. Have you recalled anything unusual' I have sent for the detectives, they will be here soon,” said Professor Jay in a panicky tone. In no time, Detective Richard and Detective Cyril arrived; they looked around the museum after hearing Professor Jay’s speech. When they reached the last exhibit, the detectives and Professor Jay entered the room for a private discussion. Outside the room, Jean overheard their conversation. ‘‘Where could the artifacts be' Probably it is just right under our noses, we cannot be sure right'” questioned Detective Cyril. Outside, Jean heard every single word, she giggled and thought to herself “Xavier is so intelligent; our plan has never failed to succeed. Those detectives are so stupid, the artifacts are indeed right under their noses! Well, we are going to be rich…” ‘‘The artifacts should be here somewhere. With that electronical security machine, the guests could not have stolen it and gone further than that but it does not seem to be here,” said Detective Richard, “Jay, who else other than you can walk in and out of the museum without passing through the electronical security machine'” “Well, they are none other than my staff,” replied Jay. “Are all your staff trustworthy'” asked Richard.“All my staff have been with me for years already and they are all fine! Oh yes! Jean, I just hired her today and the artifacts are found missing after her group left,” said Jay, “I will call her in.” Suspicion fell on Jean. Jean was still daydreaming about her riches when she was called in. “May I help you'” asked Jean. The detectives interviewed Jean. After a long interviewing, Jean gave up and admitted the crime. At least, she would have a lighter sentence. “Indeed, I am Jeanette Pamolive, accomplice of top crime mastermind, Xavier Jackson. The artifacts are well-hidden in the nearest stuffed penguin to the entrance. Xavier is waiting for me at our apartment,” admitted Jean reluctantly. Jean was charged for being involved in the crime as an accomplice but was charged with a lighter sentence for admitting it. She was charged one year of imprisonment and fine two hundred US dollars. On the other hand, Xavier who was the mastermind of several crimes was charged with lifelong imprisonment and was seized of all his property. The artifacts were recovered and the other stuff that Xavier had stolen was finally recovered. After one year of imprisonment, Jean made up her mind to turn over a new leaf. Jay kindly offered her to be his personal assistance in his museum once again. Before long, they were married. Although Jean did not fulfill her dream to travel around the world, she had been to South Pole many times as she followed Jay on his trips to South Pole. This young couple soon brought the museum to greater heights.
