I am interested in working as a Support Worker, Keyworker within the autism services (Kitchener Road) Supporting Statements I have worked as a support worker with HAIL for over 6 years now, working in a variety of projects, such as residential and support living I have worked within the social profession for several years with a wide range and experience of different client groups. The care and support that I give to my clients would to provide them with physical, emotional, psychological and emotional support, when it is necessary to promote and maintain independence, enabling them to become part of the local community in accordance with assessed needs and individual plans. My pass experience has also given me the opportunity to work with vulnerable people to access the community facilities such as college, leisure, activities and meetings. Having these community links help to enrich the service users life and make it valued. I have worked and currently working with adults with learning disabilities with challenging behaviours, and autism. All support given is base and focused on their individual needs and in accordance with their person centred plans. These would include general hygiene, meal preparation, feeding, personal care, lifting and mobilization, occupational therapy, toileting and accessing the community and maintaining the structure needed to work with this client group. In my work I carried out policies and guidelines as specified by the organisation. I also worked in pursuit of equal opportunity policies and anti-discriminatory practice. I feel strongly that any form of prejudices is unacceptable and should to be . I provide my clients with support in meeting their personal care needs, helping them build on their social network by involving them in community activities within their locality. I have implemented and worked with equal opportunity framework. I feel that any form of prejudices is unacceptable and need to be challenge supporting clients to make informed choices that may affect their daily lives in a positive manner to promote independence. I have supported service users with their own finances such as advocating and the cashing of their benefits, and am able to give services users appropriate support around their budgeting; I have a good knowledge of the financial systems around auditing, keeping receipts and keeping clear financial records of service user accounts and petty cash systems.. I have carried out assessment on service users, identifying their physical, emotional, dietary, health and cultural needs. Based on my assessments, and that of other professionals, I am able to develop a full and comprehensive care plan and understand the importance needed to maintain and keep them updated. I have liaised with family professionals and anyone who is actively involved in the co-ordinating the support offered to the service users I have had extensive training as a Health Educator in Health Care, where I was trained in the carer’s role in providing support to clients with psychological, physiologically, social and spiritual needs. I have the ability to work very well within a team structured environment. I believe in being very active with the development of the team and would organize my workload to reflect this. I follow policies and guidelines as specified by my employer to ensure best practice.
