I think my ability to read poems has expanded a lot. I seem to have grown to become fond of reading poetry more since I have learned to grasp the concept of what the poetry means. This would be a perfect gift to give a woman on any special occasion or if you just want to make her smile. This poem keeps his lover young forever in that it refers to how she appears to his eye. By writing this sonnet, he immortalizes her in the state she is in now. She is more beautiful than even the summertime, for summer will fade and turn to fall and then winter. She, however, will remain beautiful. This is his way of telling her, and everyone else, how radiant she is in his eye. He's saying that no matter what happens, his sonnet will always remain in her image. She will be kept young forever because this poem will never die. The next poem, A Blessing by James Wright was a nice one to read also.When I first read the poem I interpreted it wrong, but after reading it a few more times I seem to understand it much better. To me it seems as if Wright is stuck in a world that is very full of trouble and deceit. The ponies are, however, so innocent and pure. They don't understand the things that we face everyday. Their world consists of grazing in their own field. For Wright they offer an innocent escape from a world that only seems out to get you. The ponies love each other because they are alike, but for the same pure qualities they both possess, they are alone in this crazy world we live in today. This poem tells us that we should count our blessings because every friend, even a horse, shows love and happiness to you. A metaphor used in this poem is "They bow shyly as wet swans" this is a really great metaphor because it explains how the horse greets the girl by bowing its neck to meet her.
