‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is an animated masterpiece, created by Tim Burton- one of the most known, especially for his eccentricity, directors in the world. It is the full embodiment of the realities hinted in previous Burtons’ projects such as ‘Batman’ or ‘Beetlejuice’, but it is also much more than that. ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is the number-one example of how good quality animation can be used to make any stretch of the imagination seem real. And, like so many of Burtons movies, it’s macabre and morbid, but also surprisingly heart-warming. The action of the movie takes place in Halloween Town, where October 31 is the biggest night of the year. During preparation for the Holiday Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king, somehow loses his understanding of his place in the world and the magic he creates with Halloween. Accidentally, he discovers a doorway to Christmas Town, where he is overcame by the spirit of the joyful and cheerful Holiday. He decides to combine Halloween and Christmas together by kidnapping Santa Claus and employing all of the inhabitants of his pumpkin kingdom to create toys for children. Jack believes that taking over Santas’ role is the only way to find his happiness. Although, viewers might be convinced that Jack Skellington will ruin Christmas, everything turns out all right in the end, as the movie is full of twists in action, which keep at the edge of the seat. What makes 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' even more riveting' Definitely, the soundtrack. Danny Elfman did a great job while composing music for this movie, as every song reflects various emotions of the characters and seems to fit in perfectly. I believe ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is worth seeing. No matter what age viewers are they will enjoy this movie for sure. It is an amazing box office hit, which will not only entertain us, but also teach us a lesson and show us the way to be happy in the tough world.
