E-mail benefits an organization because it creates better client communication and improves the communication between employees, making communication faster and easier. E-mail will ultimately prevent the loss of revenue by spending less on conventional mailing products such as letters, stamps, paper, and time used by employees to send mail.

An organization would want to limit an employees’ use of e-mail because of personal use. It is thought that as many as 90 percent of employees send and receive personal e-mails at work. Using email for personal use in the work place can result in loss of revenue, major miscommunication, and mistakes. Also organizations would want to prevent possible lawsuits from someone outside the company.
