E-mail will ultimately prevent the loss of revenue by spending less on conventional mailing products such as letters, stamps, paper, and time used by employees to send mail.  Why might an organization want to limit how an employee uses e-mail during work hours' An organization would want to limit an employees’ use of e-mail because of personal use. It is thought that as many as 90 percent of employees send and receive personal e-mails at work. Using email for personal use in the work place can result in loss of revenue, major miscommunication, and mistakes. Also organizations would want to prevent possible lawsuits from someone outside the company.  What is e-mail’s path once it leaves an organization' Once an email path has left the organization it is usually meant to go to a person or a number of people. Once the email has left it can spread throughout the Internet by the hands of hackers.   What is the effect of instant messaging on organizational networks' Instant messaging can be effective because a notice or message can be sent immediately throughout an organization.  What are benefits and drawbacks of using instant messaging in an organization' The benefit is the fast and easy transfer of messages or notices throughout an organization. The drawback is that the message or notice would lack the professionalism and could possibly give the wrong idea.  What are benefits and drawbacks of Web page and search engine use in an organization' The benefits of webpage and search engine use are that an organization can put research into projects and create revenue using their own webpage for advertising. The drawback of webpage and search engine use is that employees have access to the Internet giving them the ability to visit inappropriate websites making the computer vulnerable to viruses.  Should managers monitor employee e-mail and Internet usage' Why or why not' Managers definitely should monitor employees’ e-mail and Internet use on the condition that they tell the employees of the actions they will take. Monitoring employees will ensure an organization that the workers are doing their job and not spending valuable time sending personal e-mail or aimlessly surfing the web. It is a company right to know how their equipment is being used as long as it is in the best interest of the company.
