It showed to much personal opinion and not enough research information to back up the issues that the author was trying to communicate to the audience. It shows no validity or truth in what she was saying. In the second article, "Media Violence Promotes Violent Behavior", the author was effective in his expression of facts and reliable solutions. He showed validity and truth in the way he communicated with his audience. HUM/111 3.How would you determine the credibility of the sources of information used by the authors in the articles when investigating the problems or issues presented by your topic' a.To prove credibility, we should first look them up and see if they are credible themselves. Then I would look at the cite sources in the articles. I would also read some of the books that are outlined in the articles so I can better myself on exactly what they are getting at, and to also back up the article that I have read. There are a lot of ways to determine credibility; you should look for fairness in aspects to treating opposing views fairly. 4.Compare two steps that would be most effective in refining solutions to the problem and resolutions to the issues presented by your topic. When refining solutions to the problem and resolutions to the issues. a.To fine the solutions you have to gather the facts, make a flowchart and plan of action, testing it out and if it works you can come up with the solution to the issue. Both sides need to take necessary steps to accomplish what they are setting out to do. Overcoming obstacles we are all blind toward our imperfections, so we should try to look at our own ideas critically. When avoiding assumptions we should stop taking things fro granted. We naturally make assumptions and we will continue, but we should not always expect things to be a certain way. 6. Devise a plan which is a solution and 3. Carry out the plan. Understanding the problem this consists of you knowing your position on the problem and gathering information to solve it. Then we should come up with a solution to the HUM/111 problem one that is sound and reasonable. Finally we carry out our plan this consist of following the steps to solve our problems. 7. There are several ways to look at the problems. I would also choose double standard, which means the two articles are judging the same issues just in a different way and opinion. Also oversimplifying its nothing wrong with it but when you take it too far that's when the problem arrives. 8.Summarize the steps you completed while evaluating both sides of your topic. a.While evaluating both sides I stated my argument fully and clearly as possible. I also checked for validity in the articles to help with my arguments, I made sure I checked that my conclusion was legitimate. I checked for errors affecting the truth, in which I challenged the argument. I also went back and revised my argument to eliminate any errors. Following these steps helped me to evaluate the articles and form my own opinion of the issues and the problem. 9.Explain what techniques you would use to present your ideas on this topic and persuade others effectively. a.I would say one of the techniques I used would be, understanding why people reject ideas. The more we challenge others ideas and beliefs will only make their objections stronger. Also I would say knowing my audience; this is a great strategy to use. The more you know on a subject the more your audience will agree with you. Give your audience things they may not know about the subjects this will only help them to lead to your side of the argument. 10. Identify three approaches you will use to apply these techniques to effective writing and speaking skills. aPlanning is a good strategy to use in writing; this will help you to become a good writer in your everyday life whether in school or in everyday life. Writing is a big part of life and we should use these guidelines to be effective writers. Organizing your materials speech has three divisions and without them your speech will not come across the way you may want. Also, revising I will transform my writing from not so good to great. This will ensure that I will have affective writing and speaking skills.
