Describe and evaluate the main ways in which this is achieved at Portakabin, paying particular attention to ISO9000' The quality management system in the enterprise - this is one of today's standards, but rather, a system of standards, implemented in the organization in order to reach the level of production that meets international standards. Portakabin’s quality system has two ways are external and internal. The external way. Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9000 - is part of an overall enterprise management system, which should ensure the stability of the quality of products or services. ISO 9000 - a family of standards relating to quality and to help organizations of all types and sizes to develop, implement and maintain effective working Quality Management Systems (QMS). The main set of international standards related to quality management, was adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (International Organization for Standardisation - ISO). To date, the views of independent experts and international standards compliance, which allows certification of ISO 9001 (ISO 9001) is minimal, allowing entry into the market. The certificate of conformity ISO acts as an external confirmation of compliance with the requirements of the standard. Certification of ISO 9001 (ISO 9001) imposes extensive requirements on quality standards, providing satisfaction with the organization of all stakeholders, both suppliers and customers and employees, owners and society as a whole. The internal way, is using their own market research to identify the specific needs of its customers. Portakabin identified, that clients are ready to pay for additional services, such as built-in furniture, high quality carpeted floor, etc. Also Portakabin ensure the full decisions Portakabin that include project management, health and safety and management of planning applications, so Portakabin provides all requirements of clients such as technology items and furniture. Portakabin will be use this service for maintain the quality as indicated in Portakabin of thematic researches. LO 3.2 Describe what is meant by Total Quality Management, and how might it contribute to a quality culture at Portakabin' Quality is closely linked with the organizational culture. One of the key concepts underlying the idea of management total quality (TQM) is the idea of the domestic consumers. This idea is based on the idea that every person in the organization is as a consumer and supplier, and so must take into account the quality of goods and services, as received by them, and delivered them. How would a company like Portakabin monitor its work activities so as to identify problems and opportunities for improvements' How have Portakabin changed their products, processes, and services to deliver improvements for customers and other stakeholders' Control is the process of tracking working activities, which are aimed at ensuring that it is conducted in scheduled manner, and which also includes the adjustment of any identified thus significant deviations. The main objective of monitoring is to set standards that govern the performance of tasks, in fact, measuring progress and making adjustments in the event that the achieved results differ significantly from established standards. Managers are beginning to implement the function of control from the moment when they formulated the goals and objectives and created the organization. The control is very important to the organization to function successfully. Control is the process of ensuring the achievement of the objectives of the organization. It is necessary for the detection and resolution of emerging problems before they become too serious, and can also be used to encourage successful activity. One of the most important reasons for the implementation of the control consists in the fact that any organization, of course, obliged to have the ability to, in time to fix their mistakes and correct them before they harm the achievement of the objectives of the organization. Equally important is the positive side of control, consisting in all-round support of all that is successful in the activities of the organization. In other words, one of the important aspects of monitoring is to identify what is the direction of the activities of the organization are the most effective. Identifying successes and failures of the organization and the reasons for them, we have the opportunity, quickly enough to adapt the organization to the dynamic requirements of the external environment. A striking example of the need to control, can serve as countless bankruptcy of small firms, the cause of which, as a rule, is the misunderstanding of employers the importance of implementation of control functions. The basic purpose of financial control is to ensure the effectiveness of the process of formation and spending of funds, which are in the hands of the state. Financial control - the most important means of ensuring the rule of law in the financial and economic activity. Speaking about Portakabin, their processes can be controlled by financial and non-financial measurement. Financial measurement is about profit, revenue, costs, share price, cash flow. Non-financial includes quality, number of customer complaints and warranty claims, lead times, rework, non-productive hour, delivery to time. Portakabin knows, what their customers want and what they expect. LO 3.4 If there were to be a major technological breakthrough in the manufacture of temporary accommodation which could be used by both Portakabin and its competitors, what implications would this have for changes within the operations of Portakabin' What factors would they need to consider when planning and implementing any changes, and how might they evaluate the proposed changes' Today many manufacturing companies use new technology of making their products and delivery services. So Portakabin could use machines, also their competitors. Portakabin should decide, is they company able to invest these changes. It can help to improve the profitability. In addition, if Portakabin will purchase machine for producing the product, they can save time, because machines will finish in one process, while employees will spend more time for producing just only one product. Moreover these changes will save more money, which means that the number of employees will reduce. Portakabin needs to apply are the retraining work force performance and cost of capital. The company should train the employees how to use new technology. The work force might not be able to train in one time, because employees will digress from their work. Cost of capital is about the cost of the machine, is the company able to pay for. Additionally the manager has to monitor the changes whilst they are being implemented and look for and variations from the plan. Task 2 LO 4.1 Health & safety existed in 1972, as every year, there were too many incidents have happened, therefore the government of the United Kingdom brought the law of Health & Safety at work Act 1974 and the management, if the Health & safety at work Regulations 1999. Two laws state that a health & safety of employer and employee responsibility, as well as people who are included in the company, how people should react to lead them. There are a few that employers should meet with BPP “all system (work practices) must be safe, the work environment must be safe and healthy (well-lit, warm, ventilated and hygienic). All plan and equipment must be kept up to the necessary standard (with guards on machines and so on).” (BPP, 2010) MLS, which provide health & safety manual of the state, the 1974 Act and the 1999 Law and other legislative acts, it will be a plan MLS Health & Safety, such as food security and fire-prevention, risk assessment, manual transmission, training OF users, control of hazardous substances work stress and first aider. The ones that will meet the requirements of health & safety, regulatory, and they have such procedures, to submit to. The policy statement provides information about what makes MLS think about health and safety that they will focus on the cooperation with the workers, policy review, and that health & safety management. Health & safety isn't disposable process, it should be continuous process, the company should reconsider the health and a manual security policy as a risk estimation only once a year, for constant monitoring of health & safety, MLS will provide the control list for check and audit, it is a question of control systems, fire safety, electric, COSHH and manual transfer of work. Also MLS to users to avoid maintenance of preparation and an induction of employees DSE pressure of eyes, eliminating patches of light on DSE and positions of use of the computer. Thus, MLS has provided introduction about position by means of the computer and preparation of a package user DSE who can execute sanitary rules е and safety, and also they can give the information for students about health & safety. Safety Audit for company is the procedure of full, independent and objective assessment of the security of the enterprise, the state of Affairs on the safety of business on its various divisions. The objective of an audit of security - the formulation of the objective of a professional opinion about the extent of protection of the company and on identified the most vulnerable areas and gaps in construction of system of safety of the business. In carrying out everyday tasks at the head or from the security (if any) may be what is called blunt alertness and alleviate the perception of threat and slow down the speed of reaction to emergencies. The more stable and profitable business operates, the more likely that the new risks and threats to the safe operation of the firm will be unnoticed its leadership. It should be understood that the gaps in security in most cases, manifest themselves as a serious criminal incidents or crimes. That is the result of error and time unnoticed defects in construction of system of safety of business - it is always essential damage to the interests of the company (theft, embezzlement, misappropriation, loss of clients as a result of violation of the regime of a trade secret, it was a capture, etc.).
