I often perform the role of a producer , director , coordinator , monitor , facilitator , mentor , innovator and broker as a manager . These roles keep on overlapping in most of the situations . I feel that all these roles are essential to become an effective manager . These roles are actually prime factors that are required for successful completion of a task . These factors are responsible for gaining confidence of the team as well . I promote excellent working conditions and team spirit amongst my team members so that they are able to perform in a positive and conducive environment . Whenever there is any change, I try to produce change management strategies so that the team members are able to adjust to the new situations accurately . I also produce ways so that people are able to utilize their maximum potential. I possess the ability to delegate tasks according to the ability of my team members . I know how to direct my team members in a tough situation , even when I myself am not sure whether my ideas would click or not . I always provide confidence to people even during testing times and keep on boosting their confidence till the very end . If in any case , my team experiences a failure , I do not loose my integrity rather prepare my group for the next task in hand . Hence I work as an excellent director and I am happy about the fact that many of my team members feel that I have the capacity to... By examining which program outcome I feel will add the most value for me' Along with which managerial competencies reflect my current strengths' The Managerial Accounting program will be an added value to me. By providing me the necessary knowledge to create a budget and obtain a clearer understanding. Of what a budget is used for' When related in the business world. Learn key components to stay within a budget, while saving money for a company. In order for it to grow and be successful, I have always been curious. About where the money is going and why it is hard to stay within a given budget. From my observations I have been under the impression that companies. Are usual over their budget, by over spending on things that are not allowing the company to grow, which will cause employees to lose their jobs and growth potential for the company. My current two managerial strengths would be in collaboration and problem solving. When it comes time to gather as a group to either solve a problem or complete a given task. I will take each group members individual personality into consideration, along with their strengths and weakness. Then take the time to analyze their viewpoints and construct a resolution to solve the problem. So we can be successful with the task that is given to us. If I am force to come up with a resolution promptly. I will most likely follow my gut instances and base the decision on the knowledge that was presented. By reflecting on the program outcome that will be a value to me through the MBA degree and examining my current strengths. I have gain further knowledge to be successful within the MBA program at the same time reflect on my current strengths. The program outcome I believe will add the most value is Operations Management. The managerial competencies that reflect my current strengths are the following:  Communication  Interpersonal Skills  Problem Solving  Critical Thinking Operations Management is a critical component for any business entity because it entails careful management of processes to produce & develop products and services. Operations Management is a global oversight of not just the day to day operational processes but the overall health of a company/business. With my profession, I’ve been largely involve with operations specifically with Quality and Utilization Management. It was my goal to seek quality and maintain quality of the products and services we provide. One of the key components to a successful Operations Management is Quality Management/Quality Assurance. Quality is achieved through careful review of processes and finding efficient solutions to even the minutest task. This is what I enjoyed the most. That is why I chose the above managerial competencies that reflect my strengths. I believe strongly in communication. To be able to manage one person to five departments will depend highly on strong interpersonal communication skills. Respectfully, I support anyone who can initiate and be able to direct change in any business situation. This is what I expect of myself. Both problem solving and critical thinking goes hand in hand. Engaging others in an open discussion of issues promotes teamwork and a healthy working environment. Management is an overall learning and growing process that should be observed and learned. Our own history should be an indicator of our future path. Competencies can play a critical role in institutional viability, especially as institutions link them to skills needed in today’s workplace. It is important to develop of an effective competency framework to provide the opportunity for organizational and individual growth. To be effective in the development of workplace and managerial skills, they must reflect the current estimated needs of the organization. It is critical for management to identify the core competencies of the company, and ensure that the competencies required by managers are adequate and appropriate. Competent people are the key to future success and offer organizations their only sustainable competitive advantage. At the turn of the new century, the economy was strong, unemployment was low, and the workforce was growing. These signs disprove a new reality, however. A new form of unemployment is developing, one characterized by a surplus of people who lack competencies necessary to fill available jobs. I am trying to find out a way for companies to understand and implement the need and importance of competencies, in order to have a well-run organization A manager 's job is not an easy task . Being a manager is like keeping one eye to the right and the other to the left at the same time . It is therefore very tasking especially if the manager does not have a full knowledge of the fundamentals of management .The study efforts of Denison , Hooijberg and Quinn (1995 ) regarding managerial leadership , also known as the Competing Values Framework ,have somehow provided a solution or an explanation on how managers should portray themselves in the workplace . The framework states that in order for managers to be effective , they should function as innovators ,brokers , producers , directors , coordinators , monitors , facilitators , and mentors (Denison , Hooijberg Quinn , 1995 . These roles focus on both external as well as internal emphasis . The internal emphasis focuses on the development of people within the organization while the external emphasis focuses on the development of the organization as a whole . Another area of focus for these roles is the emphasis on structure which represents the contrast between flexibility and control . This emphasizes the need for leaders to be flexible with how they handle processes within the organization yet still maintain a form of control . These sets of focus are seen as conflicting . This is the reason why developing managerial competencies should be a process that will teach a manager to multitask in order to fulfill the duties he is required to do in the areas he is required to cover .
