The Boeing Corporation has an exceptional organizational structure that is made up of basically two business solutions that work together with several corporate functions. Since this company employs more than 150,000 people that spans 71 countries, which can make this a very overwhelming job, which starts with and stops with the Business Development and Strategy.
The drive of the company is based on its Customers, Employees, Shareholders, and Communities. The model the management of Boeing uses directs the company’s preparation and concentration is effortless but a good approach for scheduling, working, evaluating, and supporting techniques that generate positive outcomes. Because of so many legal issues like the use of certain data, environmental stipulations, activists when it comes to discrimination factors, and the responsibility of the corporation to provide information and satisfaction for their customers. Because of these factors they have to create several different departments in order to meet all these goals that the company has set forth in a timely manner.
An example of a legal issue that the company may have to face is that are they complying with laws and regulations in regards to the environment. Making sure that there are not any short cuts being taken in order to either turn a bigger profit or alter information to create false reports. On the ethical side is the company operating within ethical standards. Are they being up front with their customers, employees, and shareholders that would have an influence on the company’s livelihood' Another ethical situation they have to be aware of is how they conduct their business and how they are going about hiring of their employees. Since now there are more laws and regulations that are involved insuring that all people are being given a fair chance and are not being snub based upon any race, religion, or any other ethical discrimination.
Issues that affect the company's strategic, tactical, operational, and contingency planning consist of innovation, profitability, and environmental fears. Obviously there are several other problems to take into account that have an effect on how business is determined. Some factors to take into reason are capital investments, human resources and time. The manufactured goods that could be produced need to be measured for marketability, feasibility, and cost effectiveness. The main question is will investing into these particular products create more profits, and if they do, how long will it take before the business can anticipate to see a profit. There are a multitude of questions to whether the product goes with the existing vision that the company has in place, and whether it is in the direction the business is in and that the company is looking towards.
It has been said that one of Boeing's various strong points is the extreme devotion to connecting with its customers in all levels of the organization and process. The knack for bringing a product of highly complicated systems is what makes developing and operating that much more versatile. This flexibility offers an environment where extending technology to another level is motivated by its customers. The objective is to make available services to their customers with these enhanced technologies can give them an advantage in the market place. These improvements explain a break out of consumer backing since air travel is now safer than it has been in years. With the capability of engineers, designers, and customers working together to reach a mutual goal has to have good leadership at all levels of the organization.
With all the information that is made available with the newest technology and access of information with the use of the Internet, you can inquire all kinds of databases and find out all kinds of information pretty quickly. Several years ago this was not available and would take longer because someone would have to go researching information from past reports or by even having to go to the library.
Because of the use of technology everything has become faster and more efficient in all departments of the management of this company. This has allowed the company to do their research and formulate new plans that will help keep them ahead of the rest of the competition. What once took months or years to come up with can be done in months to weeks. The effect this has on the company is not replaceable. Another effect with the use of technology is the ability to communicate with so many at one time and almost instantly. With the use of e-mail or instant messaging they are able to conduct meetings and communicate at a more convenient manner.
This company is an aerospace company where they build passenger airplanes, military aircraft, satellites, and missiles. Their planning functions of management are influenced by in house and factors outside of the company. These issues could be the economy and competition from an opposition that would immediately effect the strategic, tactical, operational, and contingency planning alleged disturbances, and watch over them from having any unforeseen things that could come up. By establishing these are part of their managerial structure and operation it prepares them for anything that may come their way both positive or negatively.
Boeing is a company well known for their extremely well liked 7-series of commercial planes. They just don’t make these big planes but they also construct Integrated Defense Systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles, and a variation of communication systems for our military or government use. The ability to have separate departments that produce completely separate items allows the company to be less likely to be exposed to failure because of not meeting specific timeframes as well as accounting of the potential for employing lazy employees. Every level of management would have their own distinct responsibilities and assignments to keep an eye on as well as finding ways to motivate their employees to produce more effectively to meet their set time frames. Because of this even with a demanding workload to finish daily they are able to achieve this because of the planning. The planning part of management is very vital because if there is no plan then no one is going to know what needs to be done and would delay the job that is trying to be done.
To be able to successfully accomplish its objectives a company must put into operation a comprehensive and vital plan to assure that all areas are include. Summarizing different plans of action should also be prepared to make sure that each objective will be accomplished. In addition, sources that are needed to achieve these company goals and any obstructions that could come up should also be contemplated. This will ensure the achievement of each goal in the event that the original plan fails.
