Make a habit/break a habit In a bullet point format, list 4 healthy habits you intend to make. In a bullet point format, list 4 unhealthy habits you intend to break. Monitor your activity for one week. For each item listed discuss if you met your goals. If any, what barriers were there to your success' Write at least three sentences on each item you listed above. Submit your assignment in RFT format. 4 Healthy Habits That I Intend To Make: Make studying and getting homework done a first priority. Get it done that way I am not so stressed and only using my time to study for a week straight in order to get caught up. Start eating healthier Start exercising Make it a healthy habit to always be positive, no matter the circumstances. 4 Unhealthy Habits That I intend To Break I am going to break the habit of blaming myself for things. I am going to break the habit of letting certain situations affect my life in the negative ways that they have been. I am going to break the habit of smoking (bad I know but a stress reliever I just had to pick up on along the way) I am going to break the habit of putting things off. I notice this is a big unhealthy habit I should fix; putting schoolwork off even for a few days when you have a lot of classes will only increase your stress levels. I will do a paragraph for each bullet point in order, down the page. But first off this was one of the hardest sessions that I have been faced with. Not due to the difficulty of it, but the fact that it really hit home in a lot of ways. I realized after analyzing this that something like this is very helpful in life. This is due to the fact that one doesn’t really understand or grasp the bad habits they are doing or even the good habits that they should be making until you actually get to analyze and write it all out for yourself. My boyfriend and I were recently having problem during all of this, I had some flaws that he did not like. At first I saw this as a way to change everything. But the point is that you cant always changes everything. You have to take yourself for what your worth, the good and the bad! So here is where I came up with each and every single one of these bullet points. Getting my homework done as a first priority, I knew would relieve a lot of stress. As I monitored it throughout the week, it got a little better. Even though it did get better, I however did not fully reach this goal by doing it everyday. I was eating healthy however at the beginning of the week, but as stress grew; it became harder to eat healthy. Also I have noticed that its hard depending on the given week you are trying to start making good habits. This is because it is so close to finals week, I am always looking for something fast. Fast is not always the healthiest. I wanted to start exercising more; I thought that this would be an excellent habit to make. With being short on time as it is, and finals coming up it has been quite a challenge to workout as though I wanted to. I started the week out with a healthy happy attitude, but sometimes certain circumstances will really get a person down in life. There is no way to really know if you will be happy at all times. But I have definitely learned that a positive attitude sure makes up for it! Again this was just a bad week to have this session, but at the same time the perfect week, due to the fact that it is making me think about things that I otherwise would not have. I did however stop blaming myself for things to an extent. With the little things that go wrong at work yes, that wad an unhealthy habit that I was able to break. It’s hard to just stop smoking, I’ve learned that this is especially true during finals week! I however have cut down, so I therefor am already working towards breaking my bad habits! This is still an ongoing habit that I am trying to break. No one knows for sure when they will grow out of something like that. I have learned that it takes a mature adult to realize that they need to get their stuff done first before they decide to even think about doing anything else. I have learned a LOT from this! You cant just decide you are going to make or break certain habits, because you don’t know what will be going on in your life during that time. Also that one to two weeks of working towards making or breaking a habit is not always long enough. It however depends on what is trying to be made or broken. Everything takes time, and I was able to see that even though I didn’t completely do what I wanted to do I feel I did at least work towards all of it! Just because I didn’t reach the habit goals now, doesn’t mean that I can’t keep still working on them, and eventually conquer them!
