The heart is that one lifeline that keeps us all alive. Yet, many people do not know this, and mistreat their hearts by making poor lifestyle choices. Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States'' About a 79.2% of people in America suffer from diabetes, cholesterol, obesity, and high blood pressure. That is why there are cardiovascular surgeons to help people make the right decisions. It is the duty of a Cardiovascular Surgeon to help prevent people from causing themselves harm. If it is too late then Cardiovascular Surgeons make their way into your heart to fix the damage done. No I am no talking about if someone has a “broken heart” like they say, but if a person suffers from any of the following heart disease: Coronary heart disease, Cardiomyopathy, Coronary artery disease, Congenital heart disease, Ischemic (or ischaemic) cardiomyopathy, Hypertensive cardiomyopathy, Valvular heart disease, Inflammatory heart disease, Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and sudden cardiac death. Cardiovascular surgeons perform operations on the heart and blood vessels of the body. There are a number of different types of operations on the heart, including replacement of heart valves, or bypasses of blocked coronary arteries. Specific surgeries include: permanent transvenous pacemaker insertion and follow-up care, cardiac surgery of the coronary artery (bypass), surgical treatment of valvular heart disease, surgical treatment of artery problems for lower extremity occlusion, and aortic aneurysm, surgical treatment of carotid artery problems and of lung and esophagus problems. My dream of taking this career was born naturally in me. I really have a thing for hearts and the human body. I really believe that there is no other possible way in making my dreams come true than to save people lives. I believe that as a Cardiovascular Surgeon I will make all the difference possible. Well in a way or the other all type of surgeons and doctors deserve to be called heroes. I will make sure that while following the career I want to take I strive hard to make new tools and find new ways to save people lives. I am decided to study and work my way up to this position. In summation, being a Cardiovascular Surgeon has not been a dream of all my life but surgery has been something that I have never changed my mind about. Cardiovascular surgery is something that came to interest me along the way. Restating what I had said before, I am willing to work hard in order to reach my goal in life, and I believe that Cardiovascular Surgery is the highest goal that I have to achieve.
