Mac Beth Mac Beth was a victim of both lady Mac Beth and the weird sisters do you agree' To some extent in the beginning Mac Beth was influenced by the witches’ prophecies and decided to believe them when one of the witches prophecy came true. Even though lady Mac Beth provoked Mac Beth to kill king Duncan, Mac Beth’s greed and passion to rule the land of Scottland based on the witches prophecies took over him physically and mentally. It allowed his ambitions to direct his decisions and choices. Once the (truthful) prophecy of Mac Beth becoming the thane of Cawdor took place, Macbeth felt confident that other prophecies might come true. The witches greeted and said “ All hail, Macbeth, hail to thee, king of Glamis! All Hail, Macbeth, Hail to thee, King of Cawdor! All Hail, Macbeth, Hail to thee, that shalt be king hereafter!” The prediction of becoming king made Macbeth consider the prophecy and how he will achieve that ambition. “ The prince of Cumberland! That is a step on which I must fall down, or else overlap, for in my way it lies…when it is done, to see. The witches stirred Mac Beth’s ambitions, if it wasn’t for the witches prophecies Mac Beth’s actions might have been very different and he would have remained thane of Cawdor. Lady Macbeth was malevolent; she goaded Macbeth to commit the first murder so his prophecy comes true and so she could become queen. She did this by criticizing his manhood and his lack of courage. Once she had received the letter she knew that Macbeth did not have the strength to murder king Duncan. “ You are too full of the milk of human kindness.” Though Macbeth disapproved of the attack, he was gullible enough to proceed further with the plan. Lady Macbeth seduced him with her thoughts “ Such I account thy love. Art thou feared to be the same in thine own act. …Live like a coward in thine esteem' …. When you durst to do it, then you were a man.” Lady Macbeth convinced him and encouraged this felony weakness in order to fulfill the witches’ prophecy and keep them satisfied. After the deed of killing Duncan was done, Macbeth felt guilty for betraying his king and duties to serve the king loyalty and protection. Before the deed was done he was known by others as brave and loyal Macbeth “ O’ valiant cousin! Worthy gentlemen! He was annoyed by his foolish actions “ this is a sorry sight, Macbeth murder sleep, the innocent sleep. I am afraid to think what I have done” when his friend Banquo becomes suspicious, vicious Macbeth ordered to have him and his son fleance killed without informing his wife of such plans. His evilness took the lives of Macduff’s innocent family. When the witches reveal the third prophecy “ be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn the power of man, for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth.” Macbeth becomes fearless and ruthless he wants the ultimate power. Lady Macbeth’s aggravation brought on by guilt from her actions made her mentally disturbed. Macbeth failed to slay Mac duff that was none of woman born on a one on one battle and was beheaded by Mac duff. Macbeth was an atrocious leader determined to rule and have his children rule after him. In conclusion Lady Macbeth and the witches were not entirely responsible for Macbeth’s brutal behaviours. Macbeth was influenced by his own discreditable actions that led to tragedy. Although his wife drove Macbeth to kill the king thus power to commit other murders and the predication of becoming king was overwhelming, his decisions and malicious deeds made him a victim through both the witches and Lady Macbeth's manipulation and himself that led him to become a tyrannical and evil dictator.
