Pig- “We need to hunt, and we’ll just rebuild the fire later” The Pig represents the turn to savagery because after the killing of the pig, people gain a lust for blood and become more than hunters; they become killers. Hair- “The rest were shocking headed, but Piggy’s hair still lay in wisp over his head as thought baldness were his natural state.” The Hair represents time along with the descent into barbarism. This is because over time the boys’ hair begins to grow along with the fact that over time they began to become less civilized. 2. How does the Geography play out in the novel' Geography plays an important role in the novel by setting the scene, describing the mood of the boys or slight foreshadowing. For example “ the air was about to explode” and “the colors drained from water and trees and pink surfaces of rock.”
