If it isn’t made of steel or cement, someone will break it eventually… Your background and circumstances may have influenced who you are, but you are responsible for who you become. Credentials on the wall do not make a decent human being. Bad things do happen to good people. Uncertainty is caused by a lack of knowledge.  Hesitation is the product of fear. People deserve a second chance, but not a third. Motivation comes in short bursts.  Act while it’s hot. There are no mistakes or failures, just lessons. Learn from your mistakes—be prepared to change. A sense of humor makes life better for you and for those in your company. Patience and tolerance are an absolute necessity in life. Just because you have a great idea doesn’t mean it will succeed. There is no right way to be a manager. You just have to do the best you can. Trust your instinct— It’s usually right. Being nice matters—and being polite is not the same as treating people with respect. There is no need to use fear or intimidation to get people to do what you ask—they will do what you ask simply because they do not want to let you down. Young people are wise beyond their years—don’t underestimate them. But don’t expect them to know how to shut off the water to the toilet… Murphy’s Law- “Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong” is 100% accurate.
