As we have the opportunity to learn new things, improve our existing skills and also teach others something, I have made a list of things that I want to learn from professionals and would like to teach to others. I believe that this process will help us to develop our skills and benefit us in our life. Five things I can learn in this semester are, cooking (Chinese), swimming, dancing, Driving cars and French. Among these activities I want learn driving as it is getting very important day by day. Next, five things I want to improve are my painting skills, regularity or punctuality, vocabulary, presentation skills and use of Photoshop. I have chosen to improve my punctuality or regularity as it will help me a lot in the future. After learning and improving these activities I want to teach some things to others like- teaching my mother how to use PC, teaching my father internet, painting and cooking to my little sister etc. and I have chosen to teach my mother use of pc which is very necessary in today’s world. Learning-(Driving): I have decided to learn driving (car) this semester as I consider that it is getting very important day by day. People should learn driving cars for their own benefits in terms of time and money. Traffic system of Dhaka city is in such condition that we cannot move from one place to another without a car. I live in Dhanmondi and my university is located in Bashundhara residential area which is long distance. Without a car, I have to face a lot of problems to go to my university. Car helps us to get around faster than any other vehicle like bus, CNG etc. For coming to university I have to rely on my driver as I cannot drive the car. If the driver is late 10-20minutes, it cost me a lot to be on time in my class which can cost me a lot in this course. Self-driving is equated with freedom and opportunity which saves my time a lot. Otherwise I have to wait in the bus line or for other transport or for the driver. Also it increases the safety level for the car because in many cases drivers is not that much trustworthy. I want to learn this handy skill as I like to operate technological stuff. So, I think I will be able to be a good driver though it is very difficult and stressful in Dhaka city. I also love to go for long drive, which is also a reason behind learning car driving. These are the reasons, for which I want to learn car driving. Improvement- (punctuality): I have chosen to improve my punctuality or regularity as it will help me a lot in the future. Usually I don’t used to put extra effort for maintaining my punctuality before, which cost me a lot. Now-a-days I try to be on time always and in the future I wish to improve my punctuality. Puntuality is very important for student, although many of us don’t value it as our main concern. In HRM370 our class is on 8:00 am and it is mandatory for us to be present on time in the class. I want to improve my punctuality level to be on time always. I think this improvement will help me a lot in my future to be on office time. For betterment of my career I need to improve this skill. We should be punctual in our life otherwise it will show lack of respect at those who must wait for them. I need to maintain punctuality to maintain my attendance level, as most of the teachers in NSU don’t give attendance to late comers. As a Student, we need to know that there is a clear rule in place with regard to punctuality. we need to know what the consequence is for being late and also need to know that this will be consistently applied by others including faculty members. Good attendance is something that all students can achieve through maintaining punctuality. Presentation and assignment submission also should be on time to get a good grade. Also we can save our time by this improving this skill. These are the reasons, for which I want to improve my punctuality level. Teaching (teach my mother use of pc): In case of teaching I have chosen to teach my mother use of pc which is very necessary in today’s world. She is a bit afraid of using new technology and doesn’t put any effort to learn them. My mother needs help of my sister or me; if she wants likes know about anything from the internet. She can’t operate computer so, it is obvious for her not to be able to use internet. She likes to cook different dishes from different country. She requests us to do that job for her. Sometimes she has to wait long for us as we are not in the home. I want her to learn pc so that she doesn’t have to waste her time for us and also can do new things in the pc. Another thing is, she will always be able to see pictures of digital camera in the computer which is very obvious for her. She can pass her time better, when we are not at home by watching movie, listening songs, doing painting or surfing through internet. She can store her data in the pc. Typing any documents or making list will be very much easier for her. I want my mother to learn about pc so that she could do her own work. She can also chat with our relatives living in abroad. It is very now a days to keep in touch with every things in today’s world. Modern world is engaged with technology so badly that if someone is afraid of new technology then he/she has to stop at one point. I don’t want my mother to be like them. So, that’s why I think she should learn using computer.
