Learning styles and the effects that they have on academic achievements
The purpose of this paper is to share the knowledge that I have gained about learning styles and how they can affect academics. The topics that I have chosen to elaborate on will reflect on my own results from the pathway to learning and the personality spectrum assessments. Knowing your learning styles is important for both the instructor and the student because learning styles are a way that the mind receives and processes information. Learning styles decide which strategies work best for your learning experience.
The personality spectrum consists of four personalities, which are organizer, giver, thinker, and adventurer.
The organizers spectrum focuses on neatness, organization, loyalty, paying attention to detail and completing tasks on time. Whereas, the characteristics of the giver spectrum focuses on honesty, acquiring success, keeping an open mind, communicating well with others
and wanting to make a difference in the world. The first thing that I noticed about these two spectrums is how they seem to complement each other and are similar in characteristics. The way these personality spectrums may affect academic achievements is through possessing organizational skills I will be able to stay on top on my assignments easier. I am good at communicating my point and views to others, as I am also open minded to other people’s views and ideas. The third spectrum I would like discuss is the Adventurer spectrum. Adventurers are skillful, impulsive, and competitive. Personalities and learning strategies combined is what will show us which learning styles will enhance your learning abilities.

The learning strategies that will enhance my learning abilities with an organizer, giver personality are the verbal/linguistic, intrapersonal, and interpersonal learning styles. Verbal/Linguistic learning strategies will enhance the learning abilities of the organizer and giver spectrum by rewriting notes, outlining chapters, reciting information, and teaching something to someone else. The intrapersonal learning strategies will help me by relating to and understanding other people’s behavior and feelings, I like my independence and I also like alone time. Interpersonal strategies will enhance my learning abilities through social activities, teamwork, motivations, feelings, and awareness of other people’s moods. When you are aware of the other person’s feelings and moods, it helps you make effective decisions as to how you will interact with that person.
In conclusion, I have found through my assessments that communication barriers will have a negative effect on the group through negative or inappropriate behaviors, irresponsibility, not having awareness of deadlines, possessing poor organization skills, and disregarding respect for other members in your team. These types of interactions will destroy a group. Communication does not just refer to the way we present information to other people it also refers to how we react to others, how we treat people and how we handle different situations that may arise.
Groups of mixed learning styles can make a group successful through sharing different points and views. By sharing different points and views, you open a line of communication that keeps a group discussion going. Communication and collaboration are stepping-stones to greater achievements as individuals and as a group. Our interactions and learning process with others is

collaboration; we are combining different learning strategies and personalities, which enable us to reach a higher level of academic achievement.
