Also she seems very happy and loved as she is living in a nice use a different word than nice house and her husband returns home at night but it appears she is a conventional wife of the time. she only wants to cater to Mr Maloney’s needs and to make sure all the time he is happy. She also thinks her marriage is perfect as she is happy and Mr Maloney seems happy with her. She believes that the marriage is perfect as they have a child on the way. Mrs Maloney is very domesticated as she always repeats the same things such as her cleaning and cooking she is trapped in a box but appears to be satisfied to cater for and serve the needs of her husband. Mr Maloney shows himself to be a very calculating and controlling man. He is controlling as Mrs Maloney does what he says and when he says, if for some reason he said to her ‘Jump’ we would think she would reply how high “Then he got up and went slowly over to fetch himself another drink, I’ll get it she cried, jumping up. This shows even for the smallest of things Mrs Maloney will try to do for him and it also shows he has control over her. In reality Mr Maloney feels suffocated and he doesn’t want to spend his time with Mrs Maloney. Also he feels happy elsewhere as he told Mrs Maloney he doesn’t want to be with her anymore maybe he just doesn’t want to be with her or he has another lover. The marriage is not good it is very unhappy, as Mr Maloney doesn’t want to be with Mrs Maloney anymore he feels he doesn’t want to be there anymore and cant handle being with her it is volatile as Mr Maloney tells her he doesn’t want to be with her focus on the language here the imperative verbs i.e. sit down and as a result it ends in the death of Mr Maloney as Mrs Maloney reacts to the news and is in pain from hearing what he said she didn’t know what to do and as a reaction she hits Mr Maloney across the head with the lamb. Mrs Maloney is very confident in her self as she kills her husband but still keeps faith in herself that she can work around it and get away from being charged. She is also very intelligent as she uses the murder weapon and cooks it to not leave any traces, this shows as Mr Maloney always under-minds her she does really know what she is doing and isn’t just a lady who cooks and cleans. The reality of her character is very different from the appearance she is determined to protect her child and her future as a mother. The lamb is something, which most people know about but most know it as meat something that you grill or fry and eat “It was wrapped in paper, so she took off the paper and looked at it again. A leg of lamb. All right then, they would have lamb for supper” this shows she had intended to cook the lamb for them both to eat. The reality of the lamb is it’s a murder weapon something, which people wouldconsider as being other than a piece of lamb.
