The movie The King’s Speech was taken place before the start of World War II in England. At the time radios were the big thing and everybody was getting them and trying them out. The king and his son’s job were to speak on the radio and tell the people the news on the radio. The only problem was that Duke of York has a speech impediment. The Duke of York looks for help so he goes to his doctor, and his doctor shows him some old remedies that don’t work. The Duke of York is the King now and is one of the reasons why he went to the doctor and try to fix his speech impediment. Duke of York is King now because King Georg V oldest son Edward becomes king when his father died. King Edward is going to get marred but to a divorced woman and the church has a problem with this, so Duke of York will now be King. The Doctor name was Lionel Logue and wasn’t even a real doctor which explains why he gave the Duke some old remedies.Mr. Lionel Logue calls The Duke of York, Brittie which is only what his family members call him because they must be feeling equal in order for the Duke to listen to him. The Duke wants Lionel to work on his speaking mechanics but The Duke real problem is sociological and having confidence in his self. The kings Speech point of view is to show how people are not perfect and everybody is born a little differently. In this case the Duke of York has a speech impediment and is tease about it and with his speech impediment he has very low selfestem.This movie The Kings Speech shows that people who have minor difulctis like a speech impediment shouldn’t be treated different and still should be treated just like everyone else. The movies also really shows that having confidence is a really good thing it keeps you motivate and helps keep you enjoying life. The movie really exercise that everybody has a story to tell and a voice to be heard but most people don’t have the confidence to say what’s on their mind or they have very low self-esteem. The Kings Speech is a very Character driven movie it shows that The Duke of York has a speech impediment the movie is based on his story and also his family. The characters that I would say that are in are The Duke of York, his wife and kids, Lionel and his family. The characters that I would say are out will be King George V, Edward and Arch Bishop. The characters that are in are true friends with The Duke of York and see him for who he really is and works with him and his speech impediment. The characters that are out because they are the big reason of The Duke of York speech impediment and they are bosses him around and making him stress out and giving him a hard time. I believe the world view of this movie is politics and leadership showing who has the bigger ego. The world sees this movie to show another way to look at politics and show how to hit people weakness to benefit from it. The world also sees that movie is about a royal family and the English government as it approaches the war. The Christian values that I found in the movie are human dignity, trust, family, freedom and friendship. The Christian value is shown in the movie by the way Lionel treats the Duke of York with respect and sticks by his all the way to the end and he was a very good friend. Lionel wasn’t treated very good by The Duke in fact The Duke of York didn’t show a lot of respect to Lionel. The Duke of York got mad at Lionel and would yell at Lionel even though Lionel was trying to help The Duke of York. Lionel did see some respect from The Duke of York when The Duke lets Lionel sit in the King’s box with the Birdie family which is a great honor of respect. Through the whole movie Lionel tried to get The Duke of York some self esteem and lots of confidence that was missing for such a long time because his brother and father really made fun of him his whole life. Human dignity really shows that everybody has a voice and a opinion. The Christian value of family Is shown in this movie by two different family first family is the Duke’s family, and the second family is Lionel’s family. The Duke of York family has a lot more stress then the Lionel’s family. The Duke of York daughters calls him your hinnies and not father.Bridies isn’t really a family man and is always busy with work so his daughter don’t see him that much.Lionels family has a lot more freedom and is laid back.Lionels is a lot closer as well and Lionel’s spends quality time with his family telling them how his day went and telling them stories. Freedom is also viewed in this movie as a Christian value because freedom wasn’t in The Duke of York life at an early age so when he starts to walk with Lionel’s and they start to talk The Duke gets freedom to make his own decision. In the movie The Duke sees a model plane at Lionel’s office and the Duke says his dad never let him build a model airplane. That shows how much The Duke was missing out in his child hood and how Lionel is really helping him get his freedom back because Lionel lets him finish the model plane that was on his office table.Freedom also goes away in the movie again when The Duke of York is at his coronation practice with Lionel and the Arch Bishop demands that The Duke of York should see the doctor that the Arch Bishop personally Recommends instead of Lionel. The Duke Of York responds that he won’t change doctors and instead he will let Lionel sit in the Kings box.
