Thomas Webster Webster1 Period two March 9, 2009 Sophomore Communication Arts Kids Tried as Adults The kids are more likely to do crime with violence in their childhood. The children that are little exposed to violence will not be in the courts as much. If they do not do crime, they cannot be tried as adults. The world will not let a child be put an adult prison. The reason is the world will as always be fighting for children. The kids are the future of the world. Helping a kid is better than sending them to a prison. A family that sticks together will not have any kids in jail. A child with a family that shows the right way by example and that child will be good. If the kid is shown the right way, most of the time, the kid will not do crime. If this kid was taught how to live in society right, there will no violence. The key part for kids to not do crime is having a family. A strong family will stop a kid from doing anything bad. I have never seen a child in jail with the adults. Not one child has been sentenced to in my 17 years not my entire life as a kid. The reason is the inmates will take advantage of the little kid. The kid will be a slave for the whole time in prison. Then there will be fights over the little kid. The inmates will do bad stuff to the poor kid; it will become a scar for life. I could see where a child would be tried as an adult, in some special cases. It costs like 1000 dollars or less Go to an adult prison. Unlike a juvenile prison, it costs like 4000 dollars or more. In these 4000 dollars, it includes counseling, special cell, medical, and education. Then again, if the crime is bad then they could be tried as adults. They should only be tried as adult, if there is no chance of saving the child. The child should be given an opportunity to live in rehabilitated state. The more kids, communities, and towns get involved together the less crime. A kid with a family will have less trouble. The family has to get involved with the school in order to help the kid. The last thing anyone wants is a little kid in prison, just locked away from society. If you or anyone you know wants a child to live life in a cell, go ahead and live your life with your freedom, while the little kid is in jail is getting taken advantage of by older inmates. Putting a child in prison does not help them learn what to do as an adult in the free world once they are released, so they will commit more crimes and end up right back in prison. Kids should not be tried as adults. There is a big difference between a kid and an adult. The kid might not even know why he/she killed someone. They might not know the consequences of their actions. An adult would know why they killed someone. If an adult kills someone, they often have mental issues and most likely did not have the right parenting. The family can help figure out what the child is good. Often the family can point the kid in the right direction. There might be less juvenile crime if the parents were more involved with their kids. If the family knew more about where the kid went and whom they hung around with, it might have a positive effect. Just getting kids involved in something positive can sometimes steer kids in the right direction. Often adults have been educated in some way and can get jobs. Even if they do not have an education, they have some life experiences. Those experiences have shaped them and given them smarts that a kid would not have because the kid’s brains are not formed yet. Adults know more about consequences for their actions. Adults are not as quick to act without thinking things through. Most adults know if they cause something against the law, they know the effect of it. The whole thing in a nutshell is do not kill someone that could save the world. Alternatively, even help to the world in a big way. Do not try little kids as adults, for god at least. The only thing that does not ruin the kids is what makes them stronger. Having an open heart will have a positive impact on everyone.
