1 page essay “Outline Key Christian Beliefs” Beliefs is an acceptance of a statement that is true or to acknowledge that something exits, Christians have their main belief as being God, and that he died for the salvation of his people. Christians follow a very monotheistic point of view, in that their God is almighty and powerful and all knowing. However, there is an important symbol known as the Trinity which expresses three distinct characters that make up one God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Each of these subjects is believed in the christian faith to have a significant role as by each having a unique symbol that is solely related to each character. The second person in the Holy Trinity is God the Son, whom is more commonly known as Jesus, who was sent by God the father in order to forgive us our sins and provide us with salvation thus earning eternal life. Although Jesus was the messiah, and a king, he didn't own a palace, he didn't have any slaves and he didn't wear a crown, he was merely a religious figure that taught the good news on the side of the street however his divinity was what set him apart from every other human. God the son (Jesus) was born to a woman named Mary, who was believed to have been a virgin. Being born by human form, Jesus was subjected to the same trials and tribulations as any other normal human, he suffered, endured pain and felt sorrow. In relation to the pain and suffering that Jesus endured, he was crucified under unjust causes as he was beginning to be a threat to the high priests fearing a revolt, thus death was Jesus' punishment, however three days after this milestone in the Christian faith, he rose from the dead, marking another great celebration in the Christian calender. It wasn't until fourty days after the resurrection of Jesus that he was finally ascended into heaven leaving his teachings in the faith and integrity of his disciples and apostles. It is not uncommon for fear to penetrate even the strongest willed man, and this is exactly what happened to the group of people that experienced the presence of Jesus and lived, sat, ate and drank with him. Penticost marks the day that the Holy Spirit came down from the heavens as tounges of flames, and ascended onto the heads of and everyone of the apostles thus giving them the wisdom and courage to stand up, go out, venture into the world and begin to spread and teach the same philosophies and good news that Jesus had tried to spread during his life. The main belief that Christians have is that of eternal life, however it must not be confused with earthly reincarnation, as for Christians, the soul is what lives on the the body in its physical form. The great anticipation of the second coming of God will be the fulfilment of Gods kingdom as well as judgement day, where the entire life span of the christian being will be judged on to be segregated and categorised into heaven or hell. Yes, Christians pride themselves in being a unique religion different to others and having no commonalities, however the truth is, Islam, Judaism and Christianity all share the same moral code which is that of the Ten Commandments, respectfully to each religion but the principle is there. Throughout the course of history there has been great feuds and debates on the originality of Christianity and were the centre of the religion would be. This brought about the reformation of the church where the Eastern church went its way, likewise, the Western church went its way. Due to this many objections have been raised to the way that either side performs and recites any part of the celebration of mass and the prayers that are included. Eastern churches, Roman and Protestant churches accept the Apostles’ Creed, with small alterations, a profession of faith formulated around 500 CE. A point of view from the Western church is that they are the true church founded by Jesus Christ and that only there will anyone find full sacramental grace. In conclusion, the Christian beliefs are those of a hopeful religion that has suffered much criticism and disunity, they put forward an ideology of faith and courage.
