The lone gunman theory, is the official explanation reached by the Warren Commission regarding the assassination of U.S president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. This theory states that Lee Harvey Oswald committed the crime single-handedly. There are many conspiracy theories suggesting there were multiple shooters, however the evidence in support of the Lone Gunman Theory is consistent and accurate. Evidence includes a laser trajectory analysis, the Warren Commission findings and the Zapruder Film. Due to a multitude of evidence in support of the theory, it is perceived by many as the most accurate. In 1998 an on-site laser trajectory analysis was performed in Dealey Plaza. The investigation was carried out by recognized experts in ballistics, including Anthony L. Paul who has thirty years of experience in Firearms, Knives, Stun Guns, Pepper Spray and Criminal Forensics, and laser specialist Heinz Thummel. Also involved were experts in analysis of gunshot wounds, Dr. Vincent Di Maio with over forty years of experience as a forensic pathologist, and crime-scene investigator. Ronald singer, with expertise in crime-scene reconstruction. As the group of experts set up the crime-scene in the same position shown in the Zapruder film, they tested conspiracy theories and possible locations of the gunman. They eliminated all the impossible theories to be left with the most viable conclusion. As the experts were examining the possibilities, they were able to confirm a suspected firing point the second floor of Del tax building. This has been one of the main conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of the president. They found that the line of prod rectory with three degrees of rotation puts that shot in perfect alignment with the sixth floor of the Del tax building, and three degrees out puts that projectile in the second floor area of the Del tax building. As there is no tangible evidence supporting the shot coming from the second floor, all the physical evidence points to the sixth floor as the location of the shooter. The hypothesis of there being more than one head shot is believed by many experts in the field of the assassination. As they aligned the line of prod rectory with the grassy noel, the experts conducting the experiment eliminated the conspiracy theory of the grassy noel on the basis that is wasn’t positioned to establish any accurate lines of prod rectory with the injuries caused to President Kennedy or Governor Connally. Dr Vincent Di Maio concludes the video by saying “Based upon the test we’ve done in the last couple of days and the autopsy, photographs and x-rays which I had a chance to look at I would have to say our test is in agreement with the findings of the government” These factors are in support of the Lone Gunman Theory, and portray the degree in which the evidence supports it. The Warren Commission supports the explanation described by the laser trajectory analysis, which has added a consistency within the theory. This Commission states that Oswald acted alone and killed President Kennedy from the sixth floor of Texas School Book Depository. Furthermore, the Commission states that Oswald fired three shots, all from behind President Kennedy, in the direction of the Del tax building. Similar to the laser trajectory theory, the idea of the path and positioning of the bullet and shooter is proposed to be most reliable, and has been proven to be most likely to be true. President Lyndon B. Johnson established the Warren Commission on the 29th of November 1963 to investigate the assassination of the President Kennedy. The Commission published twenty-six volumes of documents supporting the Commission, that includes five-hundred and fifty-two witnesses’ testimonies. As shown, the information clearly points to Lee Harvey Oswald as the killer. The consistency and validity of these proofs supports all these claims. One of the conspiracy theories that discards Oswald as the lone gunman is the idea that he was shot from the front rather than behind, as the Warren Commission and the laser trajectory suggest. Dr. Vincent Di Maio believes the shot entered from the back of the president based on the blood splatter and the examinations of the remaining portions of the skull. Dr. Vincent Di Maio states, “This is consistent with an exit because you’ve got a high velocity missile, the only type bullet that will produce so extensive a network of fractures in the skull is a bullet travelling at a very high velocity, a rifle bullet essentially. So when it comes in it makes a relatively neat hole, when it comes out it produces a large exit especially if the wound is very superficial. Actually if the wound is deeper from the top left eyebrow to directly opposite the skull the exit wound is smaller because the force generated by the bullet going through the brain can be observed by the whole head”. Dr Vincent DiMaio has described and made clear why the exit wond is smaller than the entry. The main reason for conspiracy theories to claim that he was shot from the front is due to his head thrusting backwards, which must mean that if he was shot from behind that his head must have moved forwards. In the Zapruder film it is visible that President Kennedy’s head moves forward upon impact with the bullet only to plunge back as the bullet exits. This proves that he was shoot from behind. All the evidence continues on with the original hypothesis, and supports the lone gunman thoery. The extent in which the evidence supports Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman is significant in suggesting and proving that Oswald was the killer. As the laser trajectory performed by refund experts proves the Warren Commission and the findings of the government are accurate. The zapruder film also supports all the evidence proposed by the experts and Warren Commission. In support to the Warren Commission, Dr Vincint Di Maio provide a detailed description of why the exit wound was smaller than the entry. All the evidence provided in these sources eliminates any conspiracy theory suggesting there was more than one shooter.
