Jacqueline Denise Rhinehart
Jacqueline Rhinehart is a motivational speaker, a newly published author, and the president and founder of Organic Soul Multicultural Marketing, Inc., a marketing firm that integrates entertainment concepts into creative marketing and branding opportunities. She is often described as a “Marketing Maven.” Ms. Rhinehart has had a very successful twenty-four year career as a marketing and publicity executive for companies in music, publishing and government. Jacqueline Denise Rhinehart was born on May 14, 1958 to Maggie Lee Richards Rhinehart and Willie James Rhinehart in Columbia, South Carolina. She attended undergraduate school at the University of South Carolina where she majored in Journalism/Public Relations and Advertising. She also she studied graphic design at the New School for Social Research after moving to New York, N.Y., in 1981 . (South Carolina African American History Calendar)
Ms. Rhinehart describes her undergraduate experience at the University of South Carolina the time in her life where she gained “the most valuable experiences in media and government which influenced her life's work.” Ms. Rhinehart recalls a specific assignment in a journalism class in which she was instructed to author her own obituary. For her obituary she wrote that “the deceased had been a vice-president of marketing at Warner Brothers Records,” and even though she was not the vice-president of marketing at Warner Brothers Records, her dream was not unrealistic. She served as a radio announcer for WNOK radio, Campaign Coordinator for Richard Riley for Governor, Director of the South Carolina Governor's Mansion and Staff Writer and Photographer for the South Carolina Forestry Commission.” (South Carolina African American History Calendar) In addition to being an active student, Ms. Rhinehart found the time to establish and act as senior partner in her own public relations agency ‘Jackie Productions/Tryad Services.' Ms. Rhinehart began her career in music after leaving her position as Director of the South Carolina Governor's Mansion in Columbia, South Carolina. However while she was still in South Carolina her marketing company produced the tour merchandise for notable artist Rick James, Cameo, and Zapp. (South Carolina African American History Calendar)
When Ms. Rhinehart arrived in New York in 1986, she began working as the Director of Artist Development at HUSH Productions, which at the time was the was the largest urban music management and production company in the country at that time; her task included directing the details of each artist project. While at HUSH Productions, Ms. Rhinehart was in charge of twenty-three artists who included Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore, McFadden & Whitehead, Ray Goodman & Brown, Mel'isa Morgan, Alex Bugnon, and Najee. “In 1989, Ms.Rhinehart left HUSH Productions to become the senior director of publicity for Arista Records under the helm of legendary music impresario Clive Davis.” (Jacqueline Rhinehart) While at Arista Records, she created the media campaigns for the launch of LaFace Records and Bad Boy Records, as well as the Waiting to Exhale and The Preacher’s Wife soundtracks. In addition, she worked with artists Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, TLC, Deborah Cox, Monica, The Notorious B.I.G., Sean P. After her successful duration at Arista, “Jacqueline Rhinehart moved on to senior positions at PolyGram/Mercury and Uptown/MCA Records—adding such artists as, Vanessa Williams, Oleta Adams, Tony! Ms. Rhinehart achieved much success and accomplished many things during this time, but in 1997, when she was named Vice President of Marketing, Black Music, for Universal Records she began publishing some of her most memorable and well known material. Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment, she directed multi-million dollar advertising and media campaigns, as well as developed winning cross-promotional ventures among Universal artists and companies such as Seagram, Coca-Cola, Budweiser and BET among many others. Jacqueline Rhinehart remained in the music industry for twenty-four years and she had many triumphs, however she is now focused on writing. “As an author, her current book MY ORGANIC SOUL: From Plato to Creflo, Emerson to MLK, Jesus to Jay-Z, A Journal to Help you Discover Yourself Through Words of Wisdom from Visionaries Past and Present, has sparked readers to contemplate the power of words -their own and others. Ms. Rhinehart has been recognized as a State of South Carolina Black History Maker, she was given the Mayors Key – Key to the City of Columbia, SC, and she received the Midwest Radio and Music Association Griot Award. (Jacqueline Rhinehart) Jacqueline Rhinehart has proven herself as a force to be reckoned with. She was able to aid in the development and the acceptance of Black music and she held important titles in during a time when Black women were not necessarily looked upon as leaders in this industry. Jacqueline Rhinehart continues to make her mark on the world of entertainment marketing through her speeches and her written work.
