建立人际资源圈Invasive_Species

Much thought should be put in before transferring any type of invasive species to a region where it does not belong. Even though some selective species picked to be brought into the regions could help the environment, but it would not be worth taking a risk and having to later suffer the negative consequences for taking such a risk. Serious consideration should be taken before putting any invasive species in and endangering a region.
The desire of new foods in America is a constant craze. Chefs and cooks are always searching for that new dish with the innovative key ingredient, animal, or just a new vegetable. Because of this many of these non native plants or animals are being brought into regions they are not meant to thrive in and many of which are damaging the economy. For papaya growers Jenny and Delan Perry, planting the trees on their new farm on the Big Island in Hawaii was a great success, or they thought so (Devine). At the beginning the papaya trees flourished since the conditions seemed perfect for papaya. They planted the trees on most of their land. But in the year of 1992 things went downhill. An exotic microbe, known as the papaya ringspot virus, had attacked the field (Devine). Two years later the virus had exploded into massive outbreak in the field. The papaya industry had virtually vanished (Devine). At the time this seemed like a great idea but neither of the Perrys’ knew that such a horrid incident would occur.
Not all of the invasive species have been brought here intentionally, many are accidental. Several of the exotic animals and plants brought here, aside from the ones such as pets, flower plants, or game animals that we import intentionally, sneak on to air planes or ship cargo(Baskin). Lots of them hide in the corners and e very other secret spots in crates and containers. Others will be found along with the fruits, vegetables, soils, and other goods bought (Baskin). These species will escape in the different destinations that the goods were heading and may ruin the regions they are introduced to. Along with those others that are brought in deliberately also cause threats. In the year 1935 beetles had been chewing up sugar-cane fields in Queensland (Spotts). Growers in Australia heard of toads eating these beetles and decide to use them in their fields. But instead of just eating the beetles the frogs turned to bird eggs, other insects, and other things such as pet food (Spotts). The toads turned more into a huge problem then into helping the farmers.
It can seem like a great idea to bring in new items or species into regions of their unfamiliarity in hopes of helping the region, but other times it’s more likely a risk to the area. Many people may not think of the consequences or may not know of any and that’s the reason for the mistakes. Things are better to thrive in their right places.
