Information systems can include: software which are the programs that make it possible for the hardware to process the data; data resources such as databases include image, video, audio, and others; the hardware includes machines, media, and resources of a system used to process the information, people management, decision support systems, and project management, applications, procedures or instructions, and any computer based knowledge procedures that permit different areas to run efficiently. Managing information systems and software applications is fundamental for different aspects of any type of business or organization. It helps with business operations, processes, strategies, control, and management; providing competitive advantages. Information systems can include a diversity of forms like electronic messages, reports, visual presentations, images, multimedia documents, graphics, and audio responses. All the areas in a company use Information systems and software, for example in the human resources area it is essential to make use of the information properly in order to do payrolls, data tracking, management, and accounting functions within the business or organization. Typically, Human Resource Information Systems should be able to provide management with all of employee information, training, reports and examination of employee information, productivity, provide employee handbooks, safety guidelines, attendance and punctuality, performance, training, and others. All these resources can be used for the human resources managers to maximize productivity. A well-managed system of information should provide information on anything the company needs to track and evaluate about current employees, former employees, and applicants. Also with the correct system of information employees would be able to do their own benefits updates and address changes. Plus the company would have data necessary for development. In finance, informational systems and software are essential because it provides accurate information that would help to make lucrative business decisions. This information includes management reports, financial information, budgets, etc. For managers to have a suitable knowledge of Information systems is fundamental, when making decisions. It’s a great tool that will help the managers to run a business efficiently. The only way the management will lead a business or organization to success is being competitive, and this would be impossible without the appropriate use of the information systems and software. Taking the case of a web page, there are different uses for information systems and software. For example specifics software would help to manage the inventories in a very accurate measure, letting the manager know not only the amount of items available, but also how much revenue was received for the items sold in an exact period. Other software is used to recognize what products are the most profitable or the most popular, providing information to be use in the next purchase of merchandise for the company. For sure there are many ways to use information systems for the benefit of a business; other examples are the software used for taxes, monetary transactions, shipping, listings, etc. In conclusion nowadays in this globalizing world it is very important to count on an outstanding system of information in order to be competitive and successful. It is very important to be involved and acquire all the knowledge possible since this will represent a decisive key to make a business or organization work.
